Also, I should add that the same thing happened with El Capitan 10.11.1. If you
were using the beta of 10.11.1, it'll update you to the official release.

Katie,

You’re very welcome. And, as previously stated—contrary to some reports, it’s
not been addressed in today’s OS X update. However, enjoy the rest of the

Save button is pressed at which time a dialog appears stating that the

Dear Mauricio,

I've just found an old post in my Mail application that has an attachment and I
was able to save it via the file/save attachments menu without a problem. I'm
on El Capitan, macbook pro 2014.

Sorry yo are having problems with this. I don't know what to suggest.

Best wishes

Hi All,

Since the upgrade to El Capitan, a friend has been unable to save attachments
using the Save Attachments option in the File menu. When attempting to save
attachments using this method, it appears that all is as it should be until the
Save button is pressed at which time a dialog appears stating that the
attachments could not be saved. A variety of different file types have been
tried to no avail. While it is still possible to save attached files after
interacting with the text in the open message, this means that the attachments
would have to be saved one at a time. Is anyone else experiencing this and is
there a workaround?

Thanks,

Subject: problem with mail sounds on my Mac

Hi, everyone.. I’ve been using El Capitan since I got my Mac fixed yesterday. I
was having problems with logging in when I entered my password, but I got that
fixed at the Apple store yesterday. I just upgraded from Snow Leopard. I really
like the new operating system so far, but I have a small problem that’s kind of
annoying. The Mail app is very different to navigate compared to when I used OS
10.6.8, but I’m getting used to it. I have to interact a couple more times in
different tables compared to what I’m used to. The only problem I have is I’m
not getting a new message alert sound when I get new email. I tried checking
for new messages and I don’t hear anything either. When I send a message, it
does the swooshing sound like before, but nothing when I receive email. All the
other sounds work on my Mac fine, but I’m not sure why this isn’t working.
Can you please help me fix this?
Thanks.
Katie

Hi,

Yes, the size of the plus series is what turned me off of it. The 6 and 6s are
large enough by plenty.

That is interesting that the 6s battery life is comparable to the 5s.

I'll definitely keep those thoughts in mind.

2015-10-21 Thread george b
Plug the phone into iTunes
Transfer all perchesses to iTunes from the phone
Back up the phone to iTunes not to the cloud
After backing up the phone make a archived backup

Now all that is done;

Remove your phone from iTunes just unplug the lighten out of the phone
Now turn off the phone

Now plug in the phone again
Start iTunes if you closed it
Now with iTunes running and phone plugged in;

Hold down the home button and the power button at the same time and then let
up on the power button, but keep the home button down to you hear the new
screen red to you on your iTunes
Let up on the home gutton and follow the prompts on iTunes for what you want to
do.

Hi, CJ. Thanks for letting me know. I thought I had something set up wrong when

Katie,

Sorry, but that seems to be a bug with Mail in El Capitan. In other words,
it’s not a configurable thing. In fact, I just saw a post from a guy on
another list that specifically mentioned that this issue was still alive & well
in today’s maintenance release. So, I suppose we’ll have to wait for another
update.

Cheers,

iTunes genius problem

2015-10-21 Thread Kristeen Hughes
iTunes says that “genius results can’t be updated because iTunes does not
recognize my iTunes library”. I am supposed to use the store menu to turn
genius on and off, but I can’t do that. There is no option for that. There is
an update genius and a turn on genius, and both of these are dimmed. Any
suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: iPhone 6S question

2015-10-21 Thread Daniel Miller
Hi,

On the contrary, the battery life kind of sucks on the 6S compared to the 6s
Plus. I’d strongly re-evaluate that consideration. With the 6s, you’ll be
getting battery life comparable to the 5s, maybe a little more. With the Plus,
add about a 3rd to half of that to what you already get, and the gains are
noticeable.

iPhone 6S question

2015-10-21 Thread Gabe Griffith
Hi all,

I'm thinking of upgrading my phone from the 5c. I'm considering anything from
the 5s to the 6 to the 6s. I am not interested in the plus series. A friend has
told me not to get the 6s because the battery life sucks. I would like to hear
any experiences that people on this list have had with the 6s series of phones
in relation to battery life.

Thanks,

Gabe

Re: El capitan installation disk does not work.

2015-10-21 Thread Sabahattin Gucukoglu
Can you confirm that you are in fact booting the installer? Check that the
volume in Finder shows the Install OS X El Capitan application. If it does,
then you probably have a bootable disk, but it won’t hurt to recreate it as a
last resort. Better if you can avoid DiskMakerX and use the command line, but
if not, just give it another try.

Hi!
I really don’t know whats up but i seem to not be able to boot on the el
capitan disks i make with diskmaker x.
I can not boot from the usb drive i have from either startup disk or by
pressing the option key and selecting the disk.

When i do i get into recovery mode.
The disk is formated as mac extended journal and as guid partition.
I wonder if the downloaded proram is corrupt.

Re: OS X update released and watch OS 2.0.1 released as well as IOS 9.1

2015-10-21 Thread Jamie Pauls
I know this is been asked and answered many times, but let's do it one more.
What is the best way to roll back from a public beta to an official release on
the iPhone? Step-by-step instructions would be nice. Thanks. I promise to save
it this time.

problem with mail sounds on my Mac

2015-10-21 Thread Katie Zodrow
Thanks.
Katie

Re: Fourth GEN Apple TV has no Bluetooth keyboard support

2015-10-21 Thread Scott Granados
I don’t know, Siri has gotten a lot lot better in the last few weeks even.
Since IOS 9 and the new phone the performance has been much better. A lot
faster responses and the recognition seems much more rock solid. I’m sure it
will still screw up at times but the reliability has definitely increased on
this side.

Re: Fourth GEN Apple TV has no Bluetooth keyboard support

2015-10-21 Thread Scott Granados
I didn’t even know you could use a bluetooth keyboard on the existing Apple TV
until the other day. I don’t see this as a deal breaker at all.

Personally I’m going to order one next week when they come out. I’m excited to
give it a shot. I love my present unit so a nice step up will be nic,
especially using this new application model. I never used bluetooth though so
my experience is different and I don’t weigh that as highly.

Re: 6s plus question.

2015-10-21 Thread Scott Granados
Oh I can confirm all this.

The faster fingerprint censor is fantastic. That’s one thing people notice
viewing me using the device it takes a lot less time to unlock.

The new processor is good, seems fast as can be but not a huge jump from the 6.

The new Qualcomm X35 cellular radio chip is a huge step up. You get a large
number of bands for different services around the world and for a T-Mobile user
like my self in the US there are major enhancements.

You’re going to love your new phone. I upgraded from the 6+ and the best way
to say it is the 6s+ is more refined, polished and has a smooth experience.

Coming from the 6.

The CPU has been talked a lot by reviews to.

Dear Mauricio,

I've just found an old post in my Mail application that has an attachment and I
was able to save it via the file/save attachments menu without a problem. I'm
on El Capitan, macbook pro 2014.

Sorry yo are having problems with this. I don't know what to suggest.

Best wishes

Andrew

Thanks,

Mauricio

Hi Phill,

I experience the same. I don’t have a work around so far.

All the best

Hello,

I was going to reply in the same way. But then I realised that the poster was
referring to multiple attachments. I’m sure it works here but just haven’t had
the time to find a message with multiple attachments.

Gena
