Re: Song Counts

2019-05-12 Thread 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries
Tim, the mystery deepens. There was no "kind" option so I chose the
checked option to see what that might turn up. Found some of the songs
from two of the new albums that were unchecked. They did not stay
checked. So I turned syncing off. All the music left my phone...except
the songs from all the new albums. They show in the iOS music app but do
not show under the My Device list on the Mac.

What do I need to do to straighten out this mess? Thanks!

Same, it can be fun, but I now find that I’m losing all the fights, and get
constant notifications that random people have attacked me. I think I’m on
level 9 already, but not 100% sure how I managed to get that far, aside from
gradually completing missions, which will exhaust you fast. I managed to add
someone to my mob once without knowing their code, but now can’t figure out how
on Earth I did it, and so my mob only has 1 other person in it.

Re: Reducing the backup size on icloud.

2019-05-12 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

A few things to try. Go into System Prefs on your Mac, and make sure that
What's App is not checked. Also, on your Mac, from the Finder, press
cmd-shift-i to open the iCloud directory. If there's a What's App folder
there, throw its contents in the Trash. You could also check What's App in the
iPhone Settings area to see if you can turn off iCloud syncing from there.

Re: Reducing the backup size on icloud.

2019-05-12 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Your iPhone does not backup specifically by app. The iPhone doesn't even
backup the Apple apps that are stock to the iPhone. During the backup process,
the layout of the iPhone screens is saved, markers for each app are recorded,
settings are saved, and some local data and media that is not already kept in
iCloud is saved. Subsequent backups only record changes which all keeps the
backup quite small in comparison to what's actually on your iPhone. When you
delete specific apps, their data is removed from the iPhone, but not
necessarily from the iCloud storage location. To save space, you can delete
any old iOS device backups totally, you could tell iCloud not to save data for
certain apps in iCloud itself, and/or even delete the backup for your current
device and start from scratch. The 5 GB free storage amount is usually fine
for straight backups but when you start including photos, multiple device
backups, multiple app syncing etc, you're going to run out quite quickly and no
real tweaking will fix that unless you get rid of much of the iCloud media like
photos or documents. Most sync data and settings are not sizeable enough to
make that much of a difference. The next plan that's about $1 a month usually
fixes all storage problems by giving you 50 GB storage instead of the free five.

Hello Simon,
I just checked and the only thing I see on the microsoft page is april and
october 2018. Then I found something regarding that this latest update is only
for testers.
I’ll check back later with the microsoft download page.

Thanks! That worked.

Now that that problem solved, has anyone noticed that the genre classifications
in iTunes are totally messed up? I have James Taylor‘s greatest hits in my
iTunes library, and it’s classified as punk and alternative. What

Re: a good weather app for Mac

2019-05-12 Thread Raymond Foret Jr
Not yet. But I saw something in the Mac app store called Classic weather.
Bear in mind I can’t run the latest Mac OS so I’m rather limited.
