Re: Intel Xeon W3530 quad-core processor and internal storage
No, the heatsink and processor will fit together just as they would otherwise. The six core Mac Pro comes with a W3680 Xeon chip. So, this is nothing new, and it will fit right from the factory. Nevertheless though, I am used to working on, and building computers. Sent from my iPhone On Apr 18, 2012, at 12:23 AM, Ricardo Walker rwalker...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, I was thinking the same thing. Re: Intel Xeon W3530 quad-core processor and internal storage
Processor upgrades are fairly simple. You just have to do reading beforehand. In this case, all parts will fit together properly with no extra modification needed. Just today, I installed and SSD hard drive and added 16 gigs of ram my computer. So I'm used to all of this. iMovie questions for Mike
Hi there, This email is for Mike Malarsie or whoever is able to help me out with iMovie. I'm able to create video clips and edit them just fine, but I'm wondering about inserting audio. Say how do I clip a segment of audio? Do I import it to the event group or do I drag it into the project browser group? I dragged and dropped into the browser group, and apparently it worked, but I don't see it in the timeline of all my events. I'd also like to be able to insert audio snippets at random placeds into a video project, can anyone give me some info on this? Thanks.. Re: iMovie questions for Mike
Hey Mike, I wants to your YouTube video about adding sound effects into a video. However, I researched this also on Google, and I found that it should create a separate audio track in the project browser group. I'm not certain on how to create this audio track, and for editing purposes, it's kind of difficult. Also, if I want to add a song into my movie, how do Literint the part that I want to use, save the music, and have it overlapped with different video clips. Also, I'd like to be able to splice different video clips together. Is this possible? Thanks. fs: New, Aluminum Apple infra red remote - $20
Good morning all, I'm selling a new infra red remote. These remotes do not work with newer macs, including the mac pro which is what I've got. Macs early 2009 and before have infrared ports. Re: iPhone 4 or 4S
I certainly do. Yesterday, I walked into the apple store and grabbed a 4s, bought it and walked out just because I felt like it. Here are some of the advantages. First off it's speedier. The iPhone 4 with it's A4 processor just is not enough, ino, to hand IOS 5.0 and above. The 4s, is by far faster, especially with apps that before stuttered and hung, such as sleep machine, and even sometimes skype. It's a better over all purchase, and the 4s has the dual A5 chips, so it far more faster and I don't find myself getting frustrated with my phone. I also bought the Juicer case, I forget who it's made by some weird name, but the phone sits inside the case, the sides and back are protected, but the entire front of the phone is open, and the case actually holds a batter with gives you 6 hours of additional batter life which was $80. All said and done for a white iphone 4s 16 gb and the case came to around $850. Let me know if there are any other questions. Oh yeah, don't let me forget serie as well, which is sick, to say the least. Have fun man hope you make the right choice, and if nothing else, the 4s is better simply because it does nto lag and cause voiceover to hang. That is wrong, you can buy any iphone from the apple store, but you're not going to get the discounted price, which is why it costed me so much, but I think I have deserved it. I found the bug while working in Amadeus pro. In this sound editor, for some reason, you have to enter time in a strange way. Let's say I have a file open that is 30 minutes long, but I would like to jump right to 10 minutes, 3 seconds and half a second more. So 10 minutes, 3 seconds and 500 milliseconds. In Amadeus pro, I have to enter this, using apostrophes as time separators, and 2 apostrophes to separate the seconds from the milliseconds. Does this sound weird? I don't know why amadeus wants me to use 2 apostrophes in a row, even though that works fine if you obey, although this is not important for this voiceover bug, but here I found something strange happen with voiceover. Here's the test. For ten minutes 3 seconds and 500 milliseconds, here's what I type in inside amadeus pro. I'll type it literally, so let's see what your voiceover says here. 10'3''500 With my current voiceover punctuation set to some, I hear: ten, thirty nine one one five hundred. This is strange, because what I type was: 1 0 apostrophe 3 apostrophe apostrophe 5 0 0. What the heck is happening here with voiceover? Where does that thirty nine come from? I didn't type it, but if you omit the last apostrophe, so that the 3 seconds are now only separated from the milliseconds by just one apostrophe, then everything speaks just fine. In other words, try typing this. one zero apostrophe 3 apostrophe 5 0 0 If you do this, then you hear what is on the screen. With 2 apostrophes in a row though, voiceover screws up. Can anyone confirm this? 10'3'500 against 10'3''500. Isn't that interesting? Hmm. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. This was not helped by my not getting on with the initial I MAC thin keyboard which gave me terrible RSI. For the first time I had to wear bandages over my wrists. 2 cope with the pain. 2 things have transformed matters for me. the firs is num pad commander which has for me personally revolutionised the ease of using Voiceover. . This has delivered much of the convenience of some old windows shortcuts and more. So if you want an application key to bring up the context menu then simply press the plus key on the num pad. . . I can even cope with interacting in and out of elements now with out wrecking my wrists because all I have to do is press 9 to interact and 7 to stop interacting. I execute by pressing the 5 key and so on. The other brilliant feature of the Mac is column view folder navigation which I constantly miss in Windows now. The other reasons for switching to the Mac is that hopefully Apple show no intention of losing a menu bar and moving to a hateful ribbon arrangement. By the way pressing 8 on num pad will bring up the menu bar, very easy. The other joy of the Mac is the way access tools work across the system. For example item chooser works as far as I can see everywhere and not just in Safari. I use it a lot in unfamiliar applications to get around. My only major disappointments so far is that after trying TextEdit bean, Nisus writer pro and Pages I have not found a satisfactory word processor to cope with word documents. Whether we like it or not this is a standard most of the world uses and none of these applications seem to cope with tables. If you are going to use a word processor for serious use then support for a table standard must be a basic necessity and I am baffled as to why this has not been sorted out ages ago. I also cannot do my online banking on the Mac as Safari will not even provide any feedback when entering passwords. Sometimes you sporadically get a click in some fields but often there is no typing feedback at all. I had to reset my passwords after several confused login attempts so sadly it is back to windows for anything involving passwords and finance. Secondly the other massive improvement was that I have got rid of the torture that was the new I MAC keyboard and replaced it with an older chunky model which with a wrist support no longer pains my hands and shoulders. If I could only now find a natural ergonomic keyboard that worked on a mac life would be definitely on the up. Unfortunately the windows

Hi chris, Lion for me is fine, but it does seem that the main issues are with safari. Mail was easy to configure back to the classic views and the way it used to be. Thanks John for that info, greatly appreciated. I've not done much digging into why these bugs are presenting themselves, so that info is greatly appreciated, I'll keep it in mind. I do have the problem with the popup windows not being seen with VoiceOver and seeing to lock it up. What I do in those instances is simply hit the escape key before doing anything else. If you lose speech, command tab out of Safari and try starting the VoiceOver Quick Start with control-option-command-F8. When it starts, then hit the escape key and VoiceOver should return. Furthermore, I am unable to quit out of safari while this window is open. I have run into issues with voiceover in safari where I will go back to a previous webpage, and then again try to use element navigation like jump to headings and such or links either by pressing voiceover command and whatever letter or by using the up and down arrow keys. This sometimes results in voiceover just reading the title of the page, for no reason without performing the requested function it is supposed to do. And you're going to tell me I don't know what I'm doing? It may perhaps be a machine specific thing, but I am mostly doubting this. I think it is a voiceover bug and/or a safari issue. Out of all the qwurks in osx 10.7, safari is the worst. And, I am not the only person with safari issues, I get busy busy busy as well, and snow leopard was far more useable with safari. Other people on this list have had the same issues I'm having, so it is clearly not me. And once again, it is not inteligence, because I've gone to technical schooling for 2 years and have worked on many many computers in many many different situations. So, let's disregard the inteligence factor it clearly has no place in this conversation, which only leaves 2 options. 1, it's machine specific, which if this is the case, prove it. or 2, it's a bug, which needs to be addressed. These are the only 2 options the bugs could realistically be. Cody On Nov 10, 2011, at 9:41 AM, Tim Kilburn wrote: Hi, I won't take sides here, as I don't believe that it is a sides issue. lion and safari really irritating me
Ok guys, I've been using Safari on my mac pro with lion 10.7.1. Browsing is quite irritating, I use the arrow keys for the web rooter to navigate via links and headings and so forth.. I constantly get Safari busy busy busy etc. sometimes I'll see the html content but when I try to interact with it it just beeps at me. Then if the pad finally loads, and try to use my up and down arrows to just between elements it's set to, voiceover just reads the title of the webpage. close safari and turning off vo and starting both again, sometimes doesn't work, and I get a lot of busys. It seems like web browsing in lion is just more of a pain in the ass than anything, and snow leopard was a lot better, a lot more responsive. Anyone have any input? Re: installing bootcamp accesible?
As far as installing xp on lion I'm doubting it will work, but then again, I will say I've installed Vista, which is officially unsupported by apple now, so that means xp will be unsupported as well. However this doesn't mean it will not work, because it might but you'r going to have to find drivers, which apple will not support, unless you've got a leopard or snow leopard disk and upgraded to lion, that might work. Voiceover will not speak during the windows install, so you will need an unattended setup, or sighted help. Re: installing bootcamp accesible?
The only time you will need the sl dvd is after xp is installed, once you insert the sl dv when you're at your windows desktop you'll probably get a list asking you what you want to do with the dvd, just select run setup.exe. You most likely won't have sound, so if you've got a usb headset you could plug that in and use narrator to get you started with the install. here is the very stripped down list of what you should do 1. in OX, go into the utilities folder (command shift U) and go to the bootcamp assistant 2. Once there, it will ask you to download the windows drivers but you don't need this step because lion is assuming you've got windows 7 even though it doesn't explicitly tell you that. So just check the box that says I've already got the drivers, and click next. 3. on the partition screen, there are 2 options, split the drive into 20 gigs and the rest for mac, or just split the drive in half. I would split the drive in half to avoid any future space problems you may or may not have. 4. When all said and done it will ask you to insert your windows cd and it should, barring your mac will recognize the xp disk since it is Lion after all, boot into the blue xp installer. 5. You will need someone sighted to select the 4th partition in the list, which will be labeled as bootcamp. You'll probably need to format it, and after you do, that drive label of bootcamp will not be there, so be sure you've got the right one highlighted in the list. 6. The install should go as normal, and when it is finished and you've had help setting up your time zone, user account and windows product key screens, then you should be at your desktop. Plug in any usb audio device you have, and wait for it to install drivers. 7. Press windows key plus r and type in narrator and press enter. 8. If you don't have any usb audio devices available to you, skip steps 6 and 7 and just insert your snow leopard disk. Start the installer on the disk and it will automatically install all the drivers for you, and it will want you to reboot. Please note that if your machine automatically boots into xp by default, don't panic, your lion install is not gone. To get back to lion as soon as you hear the mac chime start up sound, hold your option key for about 15 20 seconds and press right arrow twice and press enter. I hope this helps Cody On Sep 23, 2011, at 6:50 PM, Ioana Gandrabur wrote: Thanks for your answer I do indeed have a snow leopard dvd. Re: torrents and the mac
I use UTorrent as well and I don't know if transmission is still accessible. Also, I've always found torrentz.com to be kind of a pain. I use bitche on windows and that'd be nice if there was something like that for mac. bitche is an apple which scours the internet for torrents and presents them in a list view and you can right click them and select save torrent, open torrent, etc. On Sep 10, 2011, at 4:23 PM, Anouk Radix wrote: Hi everyone, I am now using utorrent on the mac in combination with torrentz.com but was wondering if any of the other torrent clients out there have become accessible on the mac and then especially ones that combine searching with downloading like for e.g. vuze? Re: going from an MBP to a MacBook Air
For the record, I just purchased, a mac pro. When i waled into the apple store, the guy thought I meant a macbook pro, and I corrected him. I purchased the base quadcore xeon 2.8 model with 3gb of ram. I explained exactly what I'd be using it for and told him that I wanted to upgrade the CPU to a 6 core westmere w3680 on my own since apple is charging way more than what it retails for, about $600 apple wants $1200 on the online apple store. The guy told me it was no necessary because it would void my wuarantee, which I already knew about, and with this expensive of a machine he strong advised against it. Like you, he explained to me that upgrading to an ssd from the 1tb drive would make a world of difference. Not to mention I got the guys phone number and he's a really steller guy, since he has the same setup and does the same thing I intend to do. I still think more ram would be a better option. I can find an upgrade kit for way less than apple wants it, and since i can shove 32 gigs of ram into this machine, I will be doing that. I also just want to say I told them I wanted to loo inside the actual computer and get an orientation where all the components were and the guy was more than happy to show me. This is why I love apple, I can trust them and take their advice without worrying that they are giving me false information. If one person doesn't know the answer, they either look it up or they get someone who does know what they are talking about. It's quite speedy--though I haven't really put it through all its paces yet as I haven't transferred my data over. And the sound is amazingly good for such a small device. I do notice a fairly significant difference in sound between the MBA and my 13-inch MBP, but as you say, not so much of a difference that it would impact my choice of machine. Re: ready to throw MBA out a window, can someone help?
With time machine, you aren't restoring the actual operating system, you are just moving over your applications, data, and user settings, just as it was on your previous machine. It needs to be said though you need to have a deticated drive, about 1tb in size or 500gb for the images of time machine because they are huge, depending on what you want to backup. On your new install of lion you can choose in time machine wehat you want to copy over, and it will do just that. But I have not done this myself, because I really don't have a drive I can use at the moment, thinking about the 3tb time capsal, looking pretty sexy about now, and for $299, I think it's a go for that. I was then able to try out all the preset amps (I have not yet modified any settings on any of them). My results so far are: I am very impressed, even amazed. There is no delay at all, at least not that I can detect, and the sound is just great. To my relatively untrained ear, it sounds as good as any not-too-expensive amp would, with the bonus that you can get so many effects in one place, then record. My setup is guitar to amp (just to relay the sound properly, no effects added on the amp) then amp to line in via a patch cable with adapter. The only problem so far is that any clean settings are either not working or are so quiet that I can't tell they are working. Distortion of any kind sounds good and is at a good volume, but without that it is hard to hear the guitar at all. Now the questions: 1. How would I put an mp3 in my project, then record myself playing along to it, so, for instance, I could give an acoustic song a bass track (with me playing the bass)? 2. When recording, which I think is just r, how do you pause or stop recording? 3. Are there hotkeys for moving forward or backward in a track? 4. Working with multiple tracks: how do you select a subset of tracks to play, instead of all of them, and how can you choose which track to work with (say you are cutting part of a track out but you have 5 tracks in the project)? In any case, under Snow Leopard, you would probably create the Automator workflow slightly differently. I'm not upgraded to Snow Leopard, so I can't give instructions based on my current system, however, using Automator and the Move Finder Items action you should be able to create a contextual menu option for Finder that will simply move selected files to your designated location. Alternatively, you can get Travis Siegel's Move AppleScript, and paste it into the Run Applescript action to make this an Automator workflow, or you could simply select the files and then run the AppleScript, or assign the AppleScript to a spark shortcut. Look for it at: http://www.softcon.com/mac/scripts I've only read about the new format, so the way I think this would be done is (somewhat sketchily) is: 1. Open Automator and select Service and then press (VO-Space) the choose button 2. Navigate with VO-Right Arrow (or use item chooser menu) to an entry that will initially read Service receives selected text (pop up button) in any application (pop up button). You want to use VO-Space to set the first pop up button to files or folder and set the second pop up button to Finder. 3. Find run AppleScript in the Actions library, select it, and press return to add it to the workflow. 4. Navigate to the workflow, interact with the Run AppleScript action. You want to copy the AppleScript, and paste it into the middle of the Run AppleScript action where you're prompted to put your AppleScript. 5. Save the workflow and name it. Re: selecting multiple files in finder?
Awesome, thanks so much Ester, greatly appreciate it. Sorry if this has already been asked, but I didn't really feel like rummaging through the archives, it was just easier to post to the list, I figured someone out there would know. Cody On Aug 29, 2011, at 3:53 PM, Esther wrote: Hi Cody, To select non contiguous files in Finder, or any other list (e.g. in iTunes, to assemble a playlist), you turn cursor tracking off (VO-Shift-F3), then navigate to any item you want, and press VO-Command-Space to add these to your selection. At any time, you can check the items that are in your selection with VO-F6. VO-Command-Space is a toggle select/unselect action, so if you checked selected items with VO-F6 and discovered that you included an item you didn't want, and want to deselect it, you can navigate with VO-Up arrow or VO-Down arrow to the item in question and do another VO-Command-Space. Then check with VO-F6 to make sure the item it gone. When you are done with your selection, remember to turn cursor tracking back on with another VO-Shift-F3. This is the most common mistake, and you will find the experience very frustrating if you forget this step, since VoiceOver won't behave the way you expect. Then you can perform whatever next action you want, which could be using Command-C to copy items, creating a new playlist from selection in iTunes with Command-Shift-N, or anything else. So here are step by step instructions to select non-contiguous items: 1. Navigate to the first item in your list 2. Press VO-Shift-F3 to turn off Cursor Tracking 3. Navigate to the next item then press VO-Command-Space bar 4. Repeat step 3 until everything you wish to select has been selected 5. Don't forget to turn Cursor Tracking back on with VO-Shift-F3 Some additional pointers: 1. As mentioned earlier, selection with VO-Command-Space is a toggle action: when applied to items that are already selected, it will deselect them, and VoiceOver will announce this. 2. You can mix item by item selection (described above) with selecting a contiguous block of items by holding down the shift key and pressing your down arrow key. So if you want to select the first ten items in a list, but leave off items 5 and 7, for example, one way to do this is to hold down the shift key as you arrow down nine times. VoiceOver will announce as each item is added to your selection. However, because cursor tracking has been turned off in step 2, your VoiceOver cursor will still be at item 1. So you could VO-Down arrow to the few items you don't want selected -- items 5 and 7 in the earlier example -- and deselect them with VO-Command-Space. This method works well when most of your selections are in large blocks, or are in large blocks except for a few items. The only confusing point is that while pressing Shift+Down arrow extends the selected region, your VoiceOver cursor position doesn't move because of turning cursor tracking off. You still need to use VO-Down Arrow or VO-Up Arrow to move your VoiceOver cursor. But suppose you want to select everything in a list except for two or three entries near the end of the list. It can be a lot more efficient to select all with Command-A, then move to the last element in a list with VO-Fn-Shift-Right Arrow (or VO-Shift-End on a full keyboard -- I use a laptop). Then, VO-Up arrow to the few items you want to deselect and VO-Command-Space to remove them from the list. 3. Remember that you can always check your selection with VO-F6. 4. Any time you want to deselect all entries, just press the Escape key. 5. If you're in a long list, it's helpful to lock your VoiceOver keys with VO-semi-colon. Then, you navigate the list by pressing the up and down arrow keys, and pressing Command-Space bar to select (or deselect). You can't use the block selection technique described in tip 2, but you can start by doing a select all (Command-A), then locking your VoiceOver keys, and arrowing up or down and using Command-Space bar to deselect. You can also move to the top or bottom of the list with Fn-Shift-Left or Right arrow (or Shift-Home and Shift-End on a full keyboard). And you can check your selection by pressing the F6 key. Remember to unlock your VoiceOver keys by pressing semi-colon. 6. Remember to turn on Cursor tracking with VO-Shift-F3 again when you're done. If you still have your VoiceOver keys locked, this is Shift-F3. I feel as though I should repeat this reminder two or three more times, because it's really the thing that most people forget. HTH. There are lots of posts about this in the archives, including a description of how to do this to add to playlists in Tips on Non-Contiguous Selection: http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries%40googlegroups.com/msg05301.html Cheers, Esther On Aug 29, 2011, at 06:42, Cody wrote: Hey guys, How do you

I have not used it since Lion is installed though, but perhaps just take a look. Betterzip zips and unzips natively, and it supports a number of other formats. Re: Installed Windows7 Alone.
You can install 7 no problem without a firewire port. you just open bootcamp assistant, split your hard drive in half, because 20gb will not be enough for windows. When the system reboots, it will automatically boot into the windows setup so wait until you stop hearing the drive spin and the first screen will probably be the language chooser or the installer. In any case, press enter, then alt + I. the next screen is the license agreement, press alt + A and then alt + N for next. this next screen will be for the partition chooser, and for me I had to have someone click advanced, then format, on the bootcamp partition, which I think is where the fire wire thing came into play. for me the bootcamp partition was the last in the list, and I don't remember the command to hit advanced I think it is alt+D but don't hold me to that. then the format button I'm not sure of. After that you can press alt + N to go to next and the install should continue. This will take a while, and if you've got no vision, I'm not sure how you'll know you're at the setup screen, but at that point you may be able to use narrator, but in my case I couldn't because I didn't have any sound drivers installed. Maybe if you left a USB headset plugged in windows would detect it and install the drivers and then you could use narrator that way. If you can tell me step by step what to do, I do have a retail copy of 7 Ultimate, and would absolutely love! to get this working, but every time I try, I wind up crashing things. So, yeah, if you can tell me how to do this, it would be awesome! BTW, I do not have a firewire port on my macbook as it's a white 13 inch mid 2010 model. I'm running OSX 10.7, Lion. Thanks. Using BootCamp and without sighted help and totally alone I did it and not using the unattended way. I made the partition using BootCamp then using a firewire cable I accessed the empty BootCamp partition in target mode and from a Windows XP machine I used the quick format to format the BootCamp partition. Finally held c down while powering the normal way and pressed enter a couple of times and then continued my way with space then enter to accept the license, c for custom and confirmed it with enter. The instructions I have for installing a retail version didn't work exactly on the oem version dvd I used since I had to repeat the installation several times before it worked, I didn't have anybody to read me the screens but I relied on my previos knowledge, anyhow it worked. On second restart it is totally unattended by itself and I already had usb headset, third restart came the speech with command-u. I used BootCamp to download the drivers and burn them to a cd and it was a MacBook 13inch white from February 2009. -- Georges Zeinoun Timmerv. 6A, SE54163 SKÖVDE Tel: +46500201623, +46500482929 Mobile: +46707567315 E-mail: humorlessg...@samobile.net Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. A note about Lion, bootcamp and accessibility
Hi listers, While this may be not totally related to accessibility, it does effect voiceover. And I thought it'd be a good thing to have for the archives. If you are thinking about installing Windows Vista or Windows 7, be sure to allocate half the drive to OSX and the other half to Windows. The mistake I made was to give only 20GB to Vista. The result was 22 mb free and windows going into an endless reboot cycle. Here is where it may save some people trouble if you already have a 20gb partition with windows vista or 7. The easiest way to resolve this issue is by getting a utility called Win Clone. Win clone images your windows partition, and allows you to delete the bootcamp partition using bootcamp utility and then you are able to recreate the bootcamp partition with bc util and split the drive in half. Here is the problem. Win clone will not work under Lion, only 10.5 and 10.6. The work around is to edit /system/library/core-services/SystemVersion.plist and edit the lines with 10.7 with 10.6.6 By doing this, it renders all system applications unusable, even voiceover, if it happens to crash or if you turn it off, and you will need a backup copy of SystemVersion.plist. The reason you need a backup copy, is not only is it a good idea to always have the original, but you will not be able to open text edit. As soon as you replace SystemVersion.plist again over your modified one everything will work again. Even though modifying this file will allow Win Clone to run, it still will not be fully functional. So therefore I figured i'd let the list know of this issue and why you shouldn't do it if you are a voiceover user. I wanted to also add, that while it's said that Lion does not support bootcamping with Vista, it does actually work. I made my partition and rebooted and installed Windows as normal. When the bootcamp utility starts it will tell you that you need to download Windows support drivers for your devices. What it doesn't mention is that these drivers are only for Windows 7, so if you are wanting to install Vista, you can bypass this step. Note: after Vista is installed, you will need to have your Snow Leopard disk handy because you will need to install the appropriate drivers from the SL DVD. So in short, Vista works just fine, even from a clean bootcamp install with Lion, although it's not officially supported... I show all the drivers in the Device Manager under W7, but can't seem to get the keyboard and TrackPad found. I did get the mouse connected it seems. You do amazing podcasts, and they're super helpful :) please do more, and add em to Skype if you like Ricardo, I'd like to speak with you. Re: [Bulk] yet another VO feature broken?
I think I enjoy the classic mail view more, though i haven't really wanted to use the new layout so we'll see. no issues with mail here, just mainly with safari and the item chooser On Jul 27, 2011, at 7:28 AM, Ray Foret Jr wrote: Can you ever say that again Jeffry. Could not agree with you more. After all, look at me. I was of the irronious opinion that Mail would take me forever to get used to because of all the complaints; and, what happened, within the same night I installed Lion, I'd pretty much worked it out. I'm talking about the new layout not the classic one. Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!! Now a very proud and happy Mac user!!! Yall quit your complaining and learn to deal with the changes. No, nothin's perfect but geez! Let's just go on and complain just because something has to be accessed differently than before. Yeah that's the way to solve problems except not. So, while yall are at it, just go report everything that's just not the same as it was before to Apple except that won't solve nothin. Yes, like everything Lion has it's bugs and such but just because acts or looks or does anything differently don't mean it's broken. For example I did get confused by the new layout in Apple Mail at first so switched to classic view for a bit. Then what did I do, did I write here and complain about it like a little kid? Nope, I read help and read other documentation to help to better get used to everything; and now, I'm using Mail in the new layout which I don't have a problem with. Sorry but I get tired sometimes going through my E-Mail and seeing complaints that this is broken or doesn't work the same way as it did in SL. Everything's gottta change at some peoint whether we like it or not. I'm sorry if I get kicked off the list for this, but I for one get tired of seeing complaints and such in my Inbox every day since Lion cae out. Yeah I could just go on and dellete which I usually do, but at some point it just gets annoying. If it looks like I'm trying to start something, i'm not, just stating my opinion. Now I don't have a problem woth reporting bugs and such because if they were't what out wouldn't get fixed but complaining has its limits. Re: Garageband success again
Nice, would you be so kind as to provide me a link to the tutorials you did? I will mostly be doing work with real instruments and prerecorded tracks and mixing them together. i will need to do things including mix pasting like in adobe audition, and fading/audio selection and fine tuning. If this is something that is possible to do in gb, please I'd be interested in knowing how you do it. thanks Cody On Jul 27, 2011, at 3:01 PM, Ricardo Walker wrote: Hi, It takes a little work but its very doable.
