Re: Moving to top of message table

2012-06-20 Thread Red . Falcon
Hi again!
I've checked and that is the right command to pick from the Jump sub menu!
If you wish to check it out 1st just press!
VO+shift+J and then straight away VO+shift+down arrow and you should find
yourself at the bottom of the page still in the same column as you were!
And then do the same [but adding the up arrow] and you should be at the top!

You do not need the most visible top or bottom items just the most top or
bottom items from the Jump sub menu!
hth Colin
Sorry this could be my fault!
Try picking the go to top most item and the bottom most item from the Jump sub
menu instead and see if that works!
Sorry about that Its been a long time since I made them!
Colin

OK Yes there is the trackpad option as well!
But if you want the Keyboard version here it is!
I'll do it as if someone needs it from the beginning!

1, Open VoO utility with VO+f8
You should be on General scroll across to the [allow voiceover to be
controlled by applescripts ] check box and check it!
2, press command+8 and this will take you to the commanders, and go and
 select the Keyboard commander tab!
3, you can enable keyboard commander, then next you can choose which
option key you wish to use! [it should be on the right one by default]
4, now you can go to the table of shortcuts [and there will be some
already there] like option+T for the time and option+S for safari!
Next to the table is the add button select it!
5, The 1st field is where you put the key you wish to use [have the key in
mind]because it must be put in 1st!
6, Next is the menu of commands you want to use!
So pick the Navigation sub menu and if you want to set the option to go to
the top and stay in the same column pick the [go to most visible top or
for the end most visible end!

When I do vo, fn shift left arrow, I get to a button called "select by

obviously arrow up but that takes a while with a large mailbox.
Any suggestions? I'm on a macbook pro hence the need for the fn key.

Re: any way to make lion give a sound notification when safari download complete?

2012-02-20 Thread Red . Falcon
Sorry I remembered the custom sounds was in Skype!
Not Growl!
But you can still use one of its own or get it to tell you! :]
Hi Ioana!
Well I don't know if this will fit the bill!
But someone else said that they had a growl item added to growl for Safari
[funny enough ] called growl for Safari!
And they said that with this growl will tell them when a download is done!
And I know that in growl you can set sounds if you do not want to hear it
spoken!
And I do not know if it still is the case with the latest versions of growl but
in mine I can add my own sounds!
So if that is still true you can have a sound of your choice!
That Safari for growl is free by the way!

Sorry a little correction!
He set the key stroke as control+command+w
I should really pay more attention!
Oh well!
there yah go!
Hi Ray!
And Esther if reading this!
Ok someone else was looking for a script to do the word count and I posted the
script that was given here!
I also mentioned the vo con flicked and suggested the track pad idea!
The person came back and said he also had the vo problem, but he had another
solution as well!
He used a third party software that allows you to set your own key combinations
and he set up command+option+w to run that script!
And now when he uses it there is no problem with vo!
here is the link to the software!
It is free and might be worth a look!

Hi Bill!
If you have your keyboard commander switched on there is the shortcut key X set
to send a screen shot to mail!
If that helps!
Its already put in for you along with the say time key and the shortcuts for
mail and safari!
All you need to do is turn on the commander and in vo utilities under general
tick the [allow vo to be controlled by applescripts] and you can use them!
A shortcut to the commanders from general is to press command+8 and that will
take you right there!

Re: Voiceover on speech off

2011-11-09 Thread Red . Falcon
Sorry Paul!
After typing M U you have to down arrow once then vo space!
My mistake!
Colin
Hi Paul!
Ok I've tried this a few times without turning my speech off!
And I suppose you cannot hear what your doing!
But here goes!
Press vo+h+h then type M followed straight away with U and then vo space !
Every time I typed M U it landed on mute speech on or off as the first option!
[ But I'm not brave enough to turn my speech off to see if I can get it back!]
But it should work!

Re: Facebook chat instructions if needed was iTunes Question and Other Stuff

2011-10-31 Thread Red . Falcon
Hi Gavin again!
Heres that facebook info if needed!
1. go to facebook.com and go to your account!
2. open account settings and select change user name [ even if you do not have
one]
3. Facebook should give you some options and just after them will be a more
link select it!
4. Now after the options Facebook gives you [I did not like my suggestions]
there is a edit box where you can put your own name!
There is a see if name is available button after you put your choice, if it is
available you can have it!
If not try another or add a number to the end! [ it might help]
5. When your happy come out of Facebook and open Adium!
6. In Adium on your contacts window open vo+m and go to the file menu!
7. Scroll down to add new account sub menu and arrow right, go down to Jabber
and select it!
8. In the new account window is where you'll find those tabs, the first one
should be selected just scroll past until you get to where you put your new
user name!
When you've entered it the next field is your Facebook password!
9. After filling those in go back to the options tab select and scroll to where
you put the server name [ as you correctly said ] chat.facebook.com and enter
it!
10. go to register new account button and press it!
And you should be done! :]

Re: List Posts I Send, I'm Not Receiving

2011-10-15 Thread Red . Falcon
Hi again!
I forgot to say you might need to set up your own card in your address book!
And when you've got it [or already had one] in the card part of the menu [vo+m
or control+f2] press make this my card and you'll be done!
Colin
Hi Richie!
Alternatively you could go to pref's [command+comma] and interact with the tool
bar!
Go to the compose button and select it, and in those options is a Automatically
checked check box [either CC or BCC your choice] myself!
So if you like you can set that up and you'll get copies of all mail sent from
that mail!
Suggestion use the BCC setting this should not have any con flicks with any
settings severs have!

Re: Adding addresses to a group in address bookGroups in address book

2011-09-26 Thread Red . Falcon
I forgot to say to press enter on the untitled folder first!
then turn off vo!
Hi Ioana!
To name the new group!
When you've got that untitled name just turn off vo [with command f5 ] then
type the name you want!
Turn vo back on same command and the new group will have the new name!
Sorry I do not think you cannot have names in a group without having them in
all contacts!
I imported some and they ended up in a groups folder called [funny enough]
imports and added them to all contacts!
But when I went to the imports folder and deleted one of them from there, it
also removed it from all contacts!
So it looks like everything is linked in address book!

Re: Spellcheck and archives

2011-09-05 Thread Red . Falcon
Oops!
It would help if I added the link!

http://davidwoodbr.podbean.com/feed/

Hi Jennifer!
Firstly and I quote [stop saying sorry hahahahahaha ] people on the list are
glad to help where they can! :]
Now I'm not sure if your running Lion or snowy kitty but in SL to open a tool
bar [and I suppose in Lion as well] just interact with it!
and after you chose your selection it will do one of two things!
Either put you into the next window or you might have to stop interacting to
get to the next window!
Now if you choose to check spelling when you press send, you will be put into
the spell check window, in there are different options for you to use just
arrow across to use the option you need for that word, one of the options is a
table of results this will tell you before opening either no results or if
there is just one that will be already selected and if it is the right one just
go back to the change button and press it!
And spell check will go to the next misspelled word if there is one!
If the table of results says no selection then just interact with it and arrow
down through the choices and find the one you need!
Then whilst on it stop interacting and go to the change button again!
If there is no suggestions at all, go to the field where the misspelled word is
and interact with it and try another version of the word [even if you do not
know how it should be spelt] then press enter and stop interacting and see if
the results table has changed!
After the table of results are other options like add or define! [ just have a
look around to see what's there ]
And finally when you finish the last word the message will go! :]
Also from another thread here is a link to a podcast from vision Australia
using the Lion version!
These podcasts are very good!
HTH Colin
PS Just going to spell check after pressing command+shift+D :]
