Re: After shocks blue tooth headset.
HI Ricardo, Have you actually used bluetooth headsets with VoiceOver like this successfully or are you just talking in theory at the moment? If this worked, it would be some improvement at least, but not a complete solution. One of the reasons I want a bluetooth headset is so I can hear VoiceOver while system sound for a presentation, movie, music or podcast can be played out loud for everyone to hear without VoiceOver interrupting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though whether they are theoretical or practical. Nic -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: After shocks blue tooth headset.
Hello, For those using BT headsets on their Macs, something that might help in this situation is to go into Voiceover utility, under sound, and make sure Voiceover output is set to default output. Sometimes, I've seen this setting set to the bluetooth device for some reason. In theory at least, you shouldn't loose speech if default output is set in the case of you losing connection with your bluetooth headset. hth Ricardo Walker rica...@appletothecore.info Twitter:@apple2thecore www.appletothecore.info On Jun 6, 2013, at 1:49 AM, Nicholas Parsons mr.nicholas.pars...@gmail.com wrote: Hi all, Phil, have you actually tried them with the Mac? Most noticeably, when the headphones turn off and then on again, whether because of low battery or manually, VoiceOver is lost. Also, sometimes when the computer first loads up VoiceOver cannot be heard. For anyone thinking of buying the Aftershokz Bluez, I'd wait until you've heard from someone who has actually used them on the Mac, and has turned them off and on again, and turned the Mac on and off again, and not had any problems. Because in my experience bluetooth headsets and VoiceOver on the Mac do not get along well. If they do work fine on the Mac, then I'll be buying a pair A.S.A.P. Re: After shocks blue tooth headset.
Hi guys What are you always wanted is a little speaker, preferably blue tooth, that can set up on your shoulder and speak out GPS information. I bought one that I was hoping would do that, but unfortunately it turned out only to work when the phone was acting for the phone call. Does anybody know about a device that would do it when the phone is not active? I know what non-Bluetooth device would do it, but I'm talking about a Bluetooth one. I don't have specific models, but this might help. As you search for a speaker, just make sure it supports A2DP, as that will let VO, music, sounds, and everything work properly. Hello, A2DP. It stands for advanced audio distribution profile. In a nut shell, its the protocol that allows stereo audio to be streamed via bluetooth. After shocks blue tooth headset.
Hello. Just wishing to know if anyone has used the new After shoks Bluetooth headsets? My ears are too small for an conventional bluetooth headset so would like to know what people think and how one would put it on. Thanks. Re: After shocks blue tooth headset.
Yes, I use them. Actually I don't use them much, but I bought them and they work quite well. I just don't have a need for bluetooth headsets anymore and so they're sitting unused on my shelf. You wear them with the band behind the head and they come over the ears and rest on the bone in front of the ear. Kind of like wearing glasses backwards. As I say they work fine and connect easily to the iPhone, I just don't need them as I thought I would. If interested, I would sell them to you at a discount, say $50 U.S. I assume you are in the U.S.? - Original Message - From: Kawal Gucukoglu kawa...@me.com To: macvisionaries macvisionaries@googlegroups.com; The Accessible Phones Discussion List blindpho...@mosenexplosion.com Sent: Monday, June 03, 2013 4:36 AM Subject: After shocks blue tooth headset. Re: After shocks blue tooth headset.
Can you tell me, then, if there is a delay? I'm thinking about getting these, as I do a lot of walking with my phone as a gps and would love wireless, non-blocking headphones. I've heard that bluetooth has a delay, though, and am wondering just how bad it is? Is it noticeable? Obvious but still useable? Annoying to the point of making you switch back to wired headphones? Thanks. On Jun 3, 2013, at 4:27 PM, Phil Halton philh...@gmail.com wrote: Yes, I use them. Actually I don't use them much, but I bought them and they work quite well. I do not live in the states but am interested if you've not used them. Perhaps we can discuss off list. On 3 Jun 2013, at 21:27, Phil Halton philh...@gmail.com wrote: Yes, I use them. Re: After shocks blue tooth headset.
With bluetooth, there is always a *tiny* delay, but the key word is *tiny*. It should be nearly imperceptible. -- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV - Erie, PA Phone: (814) 860-3194 or 888-75-BUDDY On Jun 3, 2013, at 8:40 PM, Alex Hall mehg...@gmail.com wrote: Well, that's certainly good news.
