Re: filling out pdf forms on mac
Hi brian, I did a google search on this a couple of months ago and turned up a malarky blog post where some one had used the text to speach feature of adobe for mac to describe all the fields and then some tricky way to get to the first one and thus fill out a form. It seemed ridiculous to me. Maybe it will take a law sute to get adobe off it's can and producing accessible mac software. For now, rest assured that your imagination is not playing tricks on you. The process is very broken. The recommended mac visionaries solution is pdf pen pro which has a price tag attached. I've cheated and used my virtual machine for years because I have one and can't really justify the expense of pdf pen. Best, Erik Burggraaf Freelance jack of many trades! filling out pdf forms on mac
Hi all. So I remember reading late last year that the latest version of acrobat reader dc for mac had proper support for tagged .pdf files. So now I wanted to test this. made sure my mac was completely up to date 10.11.6 installed latest version of adobe reader dc Opened a pdf file which I know is tagged properly. checked it with acrobat reader on windows as well as looked at the actual tag structure with acrobat pro. however, adobe reader for mac told me it was an untagged document. Still I told it to infer reading order and proceeded. I can see no content in this file much less fill out the actual form. Am I missing something here? I tried interacting with all kinds of bits. I see a tool bar, and a few other elements but not the actual document itself. Has anyone actually gotten this to work? if so, how did you actually get to the document area? Thanks. Re: Filling out pdf forms
Hi there I haven't followed this thread too closely because of the holidays etc. However, did you get PDF Pen pro or some other program? Nic and I had some correspondence about this when I can use it just fine, and he couldn't. He and I both got things resolved, so I was wondering if we could figure out what the problem is. I filled out the form 1040 last year with this program, and recently filled out a recertification for para transit with it also. Of course, I was using voice over all the time. The only trouble I had was with the check boxes, and they are still working on that. Hi Tim, Having fixed your form with somebody else's help, could you now do it yourself? Or does it always require sighted help? I'm afraid I've bought pdf pro but have not been able to use it. Andrew, Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I sat with one of our Adobe Master teachers fixing up a form and it took a bit of work to actually make it properly readable for me. It took about 15 minutes to get all the fields fixed up, but, it sure was worth it to me. I did have the advantage of having someone close by to fix things up where you probably did not. Is that the only option? I'd rather have a free, or at least far cheaper, app if at all possible. > On Dec 19, 2014, at 5:05 PM, christopher hallsworth > wrote: > > PDF Pen Pro >> On 19 Dec 2014, at 21:58, Chris G wrote: >> >> Hi, >> What pdf form filler is accessible with VoiceOver on the mac. >> >> I have some pdf forms I need to fill out. >> >> Thanks >> Chris >> >> -- >> Mystic Access >> Where the magic is in learning. >> 733 Delaware Rd 341 >> Buffalo, NY 14223 >> Phone: (716) 803-8528 >> web: www.mysticaccess.com >> >> Accessible Gadgets mailing list: > > >> http://lists.mysticaccess.com/listinfo.cgi/accessiblegadgets-mysticaccess.com >> Podcast: www.mysticaccesspodcast.com >> Twitter: MysticAccess >> Twitter: JediKent >> >> -- >> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups >> "MacVisionaries" group. >> To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an >> email to macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. >> To post to this group, send email to macvisionaries@googlegroups.com. >> Visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries. >> For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "MacVisionaries" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > To post to this group, send email to macvisionaries@googlegroups.com. > Visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries. > For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. -- Have a great day, Alex Hall mehg...@icloud.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
