Re: Introduction and a couple of questions.

2015-05-19 Thread christopher hallsworth
Hi Gary

Welcome to this list!

I actually use the preview pain in Mail to read my messages. All you do is
highlight a message, vo-right until you either hear the message headers such as
from and to or the message content itself. Then vo-shift-down arrow to
interact. You may then have to VO-right arrow until you hear what sounds like
the message content. Note if you land on the first message, you can't always
read using standard arrow keys. But if you press delete and the next message is
displayed, you can read with standard arrow keys. By "standard" I mean without
VO keys.

Just another option to explore besides what has been offered already.

Hi!
OK on my UK layout the Accent is to the left of Z and shift Accent is Tillder!
The one below escape is section symbol and shift section symbol is plus and
minus!
You can check this by pressing VO+k to start keyboard help and just press keys
and they will tell you what they are!
Holding down VO and pressing keys will also tell you what they do!
When your done exploring just press escape and you will be taken out of
keyboard help!

Introduction and a couple of questions.

2015-05-18 Thread Gary Price
Hello everyone.

My name is Gary Price.
I live in the United Kingdom, in a town in Lancashire called Bolton.
Just a quick E-mail introducing myself really.

I have been blind all my life. I got into the Mac through a friend Lewis Crack
in Kettering.

He sold me his old one, but this went lets just say a bit pair shaped, so I now
have a new 13 inch Macbook Pro.

I have a couple of questions before I sign off.

My first one is you know if Apple needs to contact you, what number do they
start with over in the United Kingdom?
Asking because I have been getting a strange call from a number starting 0333.

My second question concerns Mail on the Mac.

Not sure how to explain this.
When I press Enter on a message to read it, VoiceOver says message contents
scroll area. But it will not read the actual message.

Anyway I hope this E-mail is OK.

Speak soon!
Gary Price
