Re: Discmaker X for creating OS X bootable drives.

2014-01-07 Thread Rachel Feinberg
HI Annie,

If you have an 8 GB disk available for creating a bootable Mavericks installer,
you can with the terminal. Make sure the drive is named untitled and that you
have the latest Mavericks installer from the Mac app store.
Once your flash drive is empty, you can copy and paste this command into the
terminal
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\X\
Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled
--applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press return after putting that in, enter your admin password, and your disk
should be made to be bootable to install Mavericks. Also make sure that the
installer has not been moved from its default location in your applications
folder.

Any help would be appreciated. The app reads nothing with VO, whatsoever.

Re: Discmaker X for creating OS X bootable drives.

2014-01-07 Thread Annie Skov Nielsen
Hi Mike.

This is a bug apple ought to fix quicker than quick, because it is the same
problem with many apps on mavericks.

Is there another way that we can make a bootable USB pen for installing
mavericks. My mac needs to be reinstalled.

Best regards Annie.

The app does work in Mavericks, this is a voiceover bug, it currently doesn’t
work with apps created with apple script. Apple is already aware of it.

2014-01-06 Thread Barry Abbott
Hello Daniel. I'm trying it as we speak and I get the message DiscMaker x has
no windows.
It says that it works with Mavericks and I have already installed Mavericks
but want to completely erase my iMac's Drive and do a clean install as my
folder structure is a mess.
I have just tried redownloading DiscMakerX 3.03 onto my MacBook Air and will
try creating a bootdisk again.
I can access the menu bar but there is nothing of consequence other than "Use
Start Screen checked".

Thanks.

RE: Discmaker X for creating OS X bootable drives.

2013-10-28 Thread Kliphton -------
I thought the same thing, but when I did it from my MBA that was still
running mountain lion, it worked flawlessly. So I tried it from my mac mini
that had mavericks on it. Still saying disk maker has no windows. So I
installed my time machine backup and took my mini back to mountain lion, and
then it worked flawlessly like on my MBA, maybe it is a visual thing, or a
bug. Who knows.

That's weird. The program is compatible with Mavericks. I'll have to
userminal command I found to make the disc, then.

Make sure you make the disk before you upgrade, as this program does not

Hi Daniel,

It told you it had no windows, correct? I've also encountered this, the disk
seemed to be able to be made in spite of this, though. If you can, perhaps
give it a try and see if, in spite of Voiceover reporting the program had no
windows, if it still performed as intended.
