Gigi, I have to agree. Though I'm ticked to no end that they did to me what they did, and though I have my suspitions if it was done unintentionally or not, the bottom line is, they're trying to work with me. Re: I did it! Bye bye Windows!
I personally have never in the past had issues with Best Buy let alone this franchise location. Having said that I don't doubt your opinions. You're not the first person who has had nothing but trouble. Maybe I've just been lucky up to now. Anyway, I am going to be getting it swapped, so I'm a happy camper. Plus the fact they're even for an additional $100 gonna install more ram for me up to 16GB. They even told me this time, they won't let me leave the store or even pay for the ram until I myself have had them plug the system into a keyboard and monitor behind the counter, and boot it up turn VO on, and make sure it is exactly to a T what I need. So it really does sound like Erick is trying his best to make things right. And, as I said he sounds very very embarrassed for what happened. As long as he's willing to work with me, I'm personally willing to work with him to come to a good satisfactory resolution. Hi guys In all fairness, I do have a friend, a sighted friend, that bought a Mac book from Best Buy. She paid for accident protection or something like that. One fine day she spilled a cup of water into her computer. She took it back to Best Buy, and after they determined that they couldn't fix it, they replaced it. So, I guess it just depends on the people you're dealing with. I already advised you of my opinion yesterday, however I have to say unfortunately this is what happens when you work with Best Buy. This is one of the main reasons why a lot of the retail stores are closing. However, congratulations on the new Mac Mini. I am very excited for you! http://empoweringtheblind.com Empowering the blind, one step at a time. On Feb 4, 2013, at 4:37 AM, Chris Gilland wrote: > I did it! I actually? did it! Re: I did it! Bye bye Windows!
Hey chris, Congrats! I don't have a Mac myself, but I'm using this list as a learning experience when I do get a Mac, which hopefully should be in the near future. i"ll have to admit that Alex is one of the major highlights of the Mac experience imho. So, you're on a winning streak. BTW if you wanted to run Windows on the same machine as OSX, there's no reason why you can't run it within a virtual machine. You mentioned your specs, and for a serious VM installation, its not possible, but you could do basic tasks with a Windows VM. Allocate 1GB of RAM to it, and Windows should run OK. Not ideally, but it would be a at least functional experience. --Erik On Mon, Feb 4, 2013 at 7:35 AM, Kawal Gucukoglu wrote: > Nice one Chris. OK, I confess I've had access to a mac for a while before my mini, but really haven't used the mail app much. I hope I'm doing this right by replying. I just hit command r on your message which seems to have worked. I'm really enujoing it so far. I actually have YoruFukurou and Pianopub running and am listenning to a praise and worship station in Pandora with Pianopub that I created a while back based off the artist Chris Tomlin. The sound is unbelievable, especially since I have it going through surround sound. I even have Adium up and running. Re: I did it! Bye bye Windows!
Hi, Chris, Congrats! I was very excited when I got my Mac Mini in April 2010. It was like Christmas all over again. Anyhow, I plunged in without a backward glance, figuratively speaking, and I haven't regretted it. The only thing I really have missed are my favorite games in Windows, but that's even being rectified with the help of those good Draconis folks. :) That is really a shocker about the opened model. I'm glad that is being resolved in a professional manner. Anyhow, have fun. Teresa "We're made of star-stuff."--Carl Sagan On Feb 4, 2013, at 3:37 AM, Chris Gilland wrote: > I did it!
