Re: file maker pro
I was incorrect on the name of the database I was thinking of. The relational database is: Panorama,. There is a 45 day trial period if you want to try it out. Jon On Dec 4, 2009, at 5:08 PM, John W. Re: file maker pro
Although FileMaker is the primary DB for apple and PC cross compatability, it is not the only solution out there. The folks at tidbits like a program I believe is called retrospect. I have thought about testing it out, but never took the time. Also note, that the macintosh comes with a copy of mySQL which might be of help. I am kind of itching for a project right now, so if you want me to dig into this contact me privately at jonc...@cox.net Thanks, Jonathan Cohn -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: file maker pro
Given some of the tricks I mentioned yesteray, you may be able to make it sort of accessible but in an entirely clunky manner. Databases are one of the application sectors, along with accounting and a few other somewhat sophisticated applications that people need to get higher paying jobs and promotions at companies where they currently work. It is a failure of high priced AT vendors, free software (orca, NVDA) and Apple with VoiceOver. Once upon a time, JAWS did work with Access but they stopped keeping the effort alive as few customers requested - the sad thing was that these users all needed it for their jobs which were put into peril due to this strategic decision at FS. The 90% rule bites us in the butt again. cdh On Dec 4, 2009, at 5:08 PM, John W. Carty wrote: This is the simple response I received from apple concerning file maker pro and voiceover. Re: file maker pro
Hi, This is not very helpful, but speaking from past experience - excluding the times I've pestered them about Spaces, Apple have been very forthcoming with advice and support. You should also try to remember that Apple are a very secretive company and you may very find that in some future update for IWork that VO support for Numbers has been vastly improved. I know this doesn't help with the current situation, and it is one that I have been in myself. Unfortunately, the last time this happened to me, it drove me away from Mac OS X. Re: file maker pro
Good luck. It is an excellent idea but as I say, it is a broken concept. Wish I could get Apple to see it and fix it. If after using it, you feel the same way, do you think you could send Apple a gentle prod please? Thanks TC James On 4 Dec 2009, at 23:59, carlene knight wrote: Hi: Has anybody tried Spaces lately?
