Yeah but you can’t do that when you’re asleep can you? I didn’t think so. I listen to radio to help me fall asleep and stay asleep so that doesn’t work for me. Any Mac Apps That Play SiriusXM besides Radium?
Good day everyone. As you know, I've been beta testing High Sierra. I've come across a serious issue regarding the beta and Radium. So I'd like to know if anyone knows of any other apps that can do SiriusXM. I know I could just go on the website, but that's not an ideal way of listening to it as the website times out just like the app on the phone does. If only I knew someone in the States with a streaming account, I'd ask them if I could use their account with my Alexa. But alas, that's not possible. So if anyone knows other alternatives besides Radium to connect to SXM, that would be awesome. Thanks. Does The SiriusXM Web Player Still Use Javascript?
Hi all. I remember that this was discussed a few months ago, but I didn't have a SiriusXM account until now. So I'm listening to SiriusXM on my Mac using Chrome because there are issues with Radium using High Sierra. Email me privately if you want to know what they are. Anyway, I heard from a website that if you turn off Javascript, it will eliminate the stupid time out rule SiriusXM has if you're not using your computer. So, after I resolved a few issues with Chrome's settings and Voiceover, I successfully turned off Javascript. But my question is, with the new changes to their web interface that SiriusXM made, does it still use Javascript? If not, I guess it'll still time out no matter if Javascript is on or off right? Many thanks in advance. Re: with respect to Radium on the mac and SiriusXM
Since the radium people are keeping their database up-to-date, one might hope that the app will live at least a little while longer than it otherwise might, as long as an OS upgrade doesn't break the app itself. Otherwise, I have heard although I can't confirm, that the XM website has become more accessible. You could try that, I suppose. with respect to Radium on the mac and SiriusXM
Hello everyone, with the unfortunate news that radium is no longer being developed for the mac and IOS, I think it is safe to assume that it is a matter of time before the stations stop working and those of us who use and love radium will have to look for possible alternatives. One of the services that I use and love is SeriuxSM in radium. In the event that radium completely stops working, an alternative way of accessing the service will be required to fill the void left by radium. Does anyone know another app that one can accessibility use seriusXM in on the mac? I am not worried about the IOS bit as the SeriusXM app is relatively accessible. Thanks -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Re: Help with the SiriusXM app, please?
The favorite tab is the one just above the home button if you just opened the app. The problem is there is actually seven tabs and not just the five that show on the screen at one time. You can pull three fingers left or right to show the additional tabs. I prefer Radium, both the Mac and iOs apps, instead of the SiriusXM app on iOS.. You can sinc the Radium Mac and iOS app to show your favorites. Any change in either app will be noticed immediately on the other platform. By the way, I was able to rearrange my Radium favorites table on the Mac with a mouse down and mouse up key stroke. Re: SiriusXM Radio online 30-day Free Trial as Of Today, 02/16/2014
Hello all, I have been a serious XM radio subscriber for years. Currently, I use the app as it offers more for the price. For those who do not have anyone to assist with labeling buttons, they are as follows from left to right on the iPhone app categories, all channels, favorites, Shows on demand, my downloads. I have also found that once the buttons are labeld, they don't get lost when the app updates. Hope this helps. Hi Teresa, If I'm not mistaken, if you go through the categories section on the app, or under shows on demand, you may be able to get the channel name. Like you, I'm not one who cares for there current layout. However, that Appice come a long ways with its degree of accessibility. Hi Christine, Backing out of the app is a bit tricky. You can find station names under categories. Don't look on all channels. You will only see the artist currently playing or the show name currently playing. Re: SiriusXM Radio online 30-day Free Trial as Of Today, 02/16/2014
Hello all. I would just like to report that I am using the trial, and did not have to input any credit card information. Also, the iPhone app is not completely accessible. There are several unlabeled buttons at the bottom. By playing around, however, I suspect it will be quite usable. Re: SiriusXM
Unfortunately, Pulsar doesn't seem to be available any longer for purchase, nor in active development anymore. Radium works great! Beware though the version from the app store is only 2.8.3, not the new 2.8.4. I dono why they haven't pushed an update. I wrote support and asked them. The issue is that in 2.8.3 the buttons you hit vo+space on to start playing your stations ¬are not correctly labeled. In 2.8.4, which isn't in the app store, you literally gotta go to the web site… just google it… to get, that issue seems to have been fixed. Now, however the only thing I can't find in the app is after checking one of the boxes beside a station to make it a favorite, how then you access the list of all your favorites, as everywhere I look, I can't find an option to do that. Hi everyone, I am trying to get prepared for when Pulsar doesn't work anymore. I tried to use the Sirius XM online player with no luck. I couldn't even login. I am using click to flash. I even tried putting my login information into 1Password and have the app login for me. Still no luck. Does anyone know how to access Sirius XM radio on the Mac without Pulsar. I wish Pulsar would never go away and keep updating. Frown, Rod -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: Accessing SiriusXM content on the Mac
You probably will not be able to access it. The web based player is completely flash based, and flash is not accessible on the mac. Using something such as click to flash will not work either since they prevent flash content from loading which the player requires. No, it's not worth paying the extra money for a radio I cannot use. Too bad for them, guess I'll just invest my money in other things. I'll bet they remove the trial internet only subscriptions soon too,as they're very easy to abues. Not that I'm going to sit here and encourage anyone to do so, only pointing out the fact that it's very easily done. Scott On 10/13/12, Shawn Krasniuk bigbigshawn@gmail.com wrote: Hi Pam. Re: siriusxm
Hi Shawn. Hmm. I wasn't aware you had to now have a radio to subscribe. That's pretty stupid to put it mildly. I was using musicdock for awhile, but now it's not working with the service. most of the channels are not playing. However, if it works, this would be one accessible way to get music and some news programming. It willl not, however, play sports content. I don't want to buy a radio since I have no interest in having one. I'm not even sure I'd get reception being that I don't have a clear line of sight to the satellites where I live and also because I live on a hoyty toyty part of Long Island, so I don't know that any repeaters would even be in range. Scott On 10/11/12, Shawn Krasniuk bigbigshawn@gmail.com wrote: Hi. I too am having problems with Sirius XM. One of them, which is a stupid policy in my opinion, is that you need a credit card to subscribe. That's not good if a company wants to attract more customers. And even though they're giving me the run around in order to subscribe, I will be subscribing with them next week. The point I'm trying to get at is that we blind users shouldn't give up so easily. The more of us bark at them, the more they'll consider changing their errors. I know we're in the minority here, but that shouldn't stop us from listening to great music and sports. And yes, the iPhone app is a bit inaccessible here and there, well most parts here in Canada are accessible, but that's another reason to hastle them. Oh and by the way, to the person that wanted to subscribe to the Internet service only, as of October 1 they changed that. You have to buy an actual radio and subscribe with that radio in order to subscribe with the internet service. I tried to do that and they told me that I can't do that without a radio. Re: siriusxm
Hi Scott. If you did like the Internet service a lot, and this is what I plan to do when I subscribe, you could buy a radio and just use the Iphone app to listen to the stations. Sure, it'll cost you $20 a month, but it's worth it. This is my only way I can listen to Sirius XM when my trial expires because unfortunately, when I bought the radio off someone, I didn't realize that the thing could only be used in a car. Re: siriusxm
Hi Mike. The iOS app is sort of usable. There are some unlabeled buttons in the app, but you can use the app itself either by creating custom lables or just memorizing what the buttons are. I only know that the first unlabeled button is for categories and the second for all channels. The other issue then becomes that you don't actually see the channel names, just the now playing info. I'm not sure what the other 3 unlabled buttons are in the app, since I had a trial that has expired. Re: siriusxm
Hi.
