[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1825256] Re: The Manage -> Export page radio buttons alignment need to be better

2019-04-30 Thread Steven
TITLE: The Manage -> Export page radio buttons alignment need to be
better

BUG SUMMARY: Currently the export/index.php page has some radio buttons +
description text but spacing is all wrong as the first description is closer to
second radio button than the first
Adjust the export page radio button layout
So the text aligns better with radio button and that discription is paired
better with radio button

Title:
  Ability to "retire" SmartEvidence frameworks

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
As curriculum develops and changes and institutions refine what they need
from SmartEvidence, existing frameworks will become redundant as they are
modified to meet new requirements. Currently any framework that even a single
user has selected for inclusion in a portfolio cannot be deleted. If old
frameworks could be "retired" so that while they still exist in the system they
are not available/visible to users as a framework that can be chosen it will
make the feature much more viable on a long term basis.

Being able to modify or delete an in-use framework to correct an error would
be useful, but this is the less drastic step of simply hiding an old version to
make it unavailable to add to a collection.

The latest security release 17.10.8 has a bug in the Makefile when it's
building ssphp.

It needs to specify the dependency on running the composer init first.

  i.e.

  initcomposer: installcomposer

Otherwise, the make ssphp failes because it can't find the
  composer.phar file.

  Security Release 17.10.8 Makefile

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Mahara: 17.10.8
  OS: Linux
  DB: Postgres
  Browser: n/a

The latest security release 17.10.8 has a bug in the Makefile when it's
building ssphp.

It needs to specify the dependency on running the composer init first.

  i.e.

  initcomposer: installcomposer

Otherwise, the make ssphp failes because it can't find the
  composer.phar file.

Bug description:
  Hi,

I was trying to upgrade my existing 18.04.2 Mahara installation to latest
18.10.0 on my windows environment server. However I am getting "Mahara: Site
unavailable
A nonrecoverable error occurred. This probably means you have encountered a
bug in the system " error when I visit
http://siteurl/admin/upgrade.php?rerun=1='mysecret'

  To debug this further, I had uncommented $cfg->productionmode = false;
in config.php to see the errors and I found that it was giving error
  on {Path to Mahara}/lib/dwoo/dwoo/Dwoo/Template/Str.php line 530
  unable to chmod.

I guess this is happening because of "if (strpos(PHP_OS, 'WIN') !==
false && $baseDir !== null)" condition. Instead of this if I replace
  false with 0 i.e "if (strpos(PHP_OS, 'WIN') !== 0 && $baseDir !==
  null)" the upgrade works fine.

Can you please confirm is this the known issue ? Or am I missing on
  something ?

Bug description:
When an admin sets up institution tags, they are not available when
setting up institution pages or content for the institution. This will
make it harder for people using the institution tags as the
institution admin would want to use the official tags on templates
that are copied to institution members.

When a copy is made, the tags needs to retain its institution tag
  quality.

  1. Set up a couple of institution tags for an institution.
  2. Create an institution page.
Expected result: You are able to choose from the available institution tags
both as site admin and as institution admin. The site admin only sees the tags
set up by the institution for which the content is created.
Actual result: The institution tags are not available.

  Furthermore to test:
When a user copies an institution page that contains an institution tag, they
are not able to edit that tag and it counts towards the use of the institution
tag on Admin menu -> Institutions -> Tags.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1827014] [NEW] Ability to "retire" SmartEvidence frameworks

2019-04-30 Thread Gordon McLeod
Public bug reported:

As curriculum develops and changes and institutions refine what they need from
SmartEvidence, existing frameworks will become redundant as they are modified
to meet new requirements. Currently any framework that even a single user has
selected for inclusion in a portfolio cannot be deleted. If old frameworks
could be "retired" so that while they still exist in the system they are not
available/visible to users as a framework that can be chosen it will make the
feature much more viable on a long term basis.

Being able to modify or delete an in-use framework to correct an error would be
useful, but this is the less drastic step of simply hiding an old version to
make it unavailable to add to a collection.

The lti service had been configured in the past but is now disabled.
During the upgrade, it tries to clean up the tables for unused modules
and the lti comes up in the list.

But, it's failing due to a foreign key constraint on the
  oauth_server_config table.

The external_delete_descriptions() needs to also remove records from
the oauth_server_config table before removing records from the
  oauth_server_registry table.

LTI sometimes sends parameters through that Mahara doesn't require.
Rather than whitelisting them as suggested in bug #1785542. We
reviewed things again and there don't seem to be any security concerns
after all that we would need to take into consideration.

So we'll drop / ignore any parameters that Mahara doesn't need like we
do for parameters that start with "custom". That means that when they
are ignored, a site admin should see a message on the screen when not
in production mode to that effect so they know what has been ignored.

Title:
  Can't set remoteusername anymore

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released
Status in Mahara 18.10 series:
  Fix Released
Status in Mahara 19.04 series:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Tested in Mahara 18.10 and master

It is not possible anymore to change the remote username from the site
user account settings screen /admin/users/edit.php?id= (Admin menu ->
Users -> User search -> Click on a username). When a remote auth
method (MNet, SAML, web services) is selected, the field "Username for
external authentication" should become visible so that the remote
username can be entered or changed there.

I don't see that field anymore (see attached screenshot).

  To replicate:

  1. Set up an institution with MNet or SAML.
  2. Set the auth method for a user account to MNet / SAML.
Expected result: The "Username for external authentication" field should show
up.
Actual result: Nothing happens, not even after saving the page.

Is-it possible offers couchbase as a new type of sessionhandler?

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
Follow-on issue from the Bootstrap upgrade.

The information text when you have requested to join a group is
smaller than when a group is an invitation only group.

  1. Create two users.
  2. User A creates group 1 that is invitation only (in group settings, do not
select "Open", "Controlled" or "Request").
  3. User A creates group 2 that is a request group (in group settings, select
"Request" after having turned off "Open").
  4. Log in as user B and go to Main menu -> Engage -> Groups.
  5. Click the "Request to join this group" button and complete the request.
You are taken back to the groups overview page.
  6. In the "Search" drop-down menu select "All groups".

Expected result: The text "You have requested to join this group" is
the same size as "Membership to this group is by invitation only".

Actual result: The text "Membership..." is larger when it shouldn't
  be.

The text "Membership..." needs to be the same size as "You have
requested..." as that is the standard size for all information about
  group membership on that page.

The screenshot is from the "Default" theme. The font size needs to be
  checked in every theme.

Title:
"Objectionable material reported" option doesn't align in the menu

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Follow-on from Bootstrap upgrade.

When a page was reported as objectionable and the "More options" menu
is opened, the icon and text "Objectionable material reported" don't
align with the rest of the text (see screenshot). It should look like
  https://manual.mahara.org/en/18.10/_images/3_dots_expanded.png

  To replicate:

  1. Create user A and user B.
  2. User A creates a page.
  3. User B marks the page as objectionable.
  4. User B looks at the options in the "More options" menu via the "3 dots"
button when viewing the page.

Expected result: All options are aligned on the left with the icons below
each other.
Actual result: The "Objectionable material reported" option doesn't align.

  Isolated institutions

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
I think a very useful feature to have 'closed' or 'controlled' institutions,
whereby the members of one instutution can't see or communicate with members
not in their insitution. This feature would be useful for safeguarding, for
example a college may not want adult college members to be able to communicate
(and potentially 'groom') 14-18 year olds. The 14-18 could be put into a
separate institution to the adult college members, but teachers could be in
both, so could see both sets of learners, but the two sets of learners couldn't
'see' each other.
May also be useful to prevent confusion in large installs with many
institutions...

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
In bug #1815807 we added the person's name to the file properties to
see who uploaded a file. This information should not be visible in the
personal files area as it is superfluous. It can stay available in the
group, institution, and site files areas as there are multiple people
who could potentially upload files and thus differentiating who did
would be a good thing for transparency.

  To replicate:

  1. Log in as site admin.
  2. Upload a file to your personal files area and click the "Edit" button.
Expected result: There is no mention of "Uploaded by"
Actual result: "Uploaded by ..." is displayed.

  3. Add the file to a page.

Expected result: There is no mention of "Uploaded by"
Actual result: "Uploaded by ..." is displayed.

  5. Upload a file to a group.

Submitted items not marked with submission color

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
This is a regression with the upgrade to Bootstrap 4.

In the past, files that were part of the page submitted for assessment
were marked with a yellowish color. See
  https://manual.mahara.org/en/18.10/_images/file_browser.png (the
  mahara_tune file).

Now in 19.04RC1 that color is not visible (see attachment). It needs
to be added back in. The color highlight is still visible for pages /
collections in Create -> Pages and collections.

  To replicate:

  1. Create a group that allows submissions.
  2. Create a personal page and add a file to it. It doesn't matter whether
it's an image or another file.
  3. Submit the page to the group.
  4. Go to Main menu -> Create -> Files and view the files table.

Expected result: The submitted file has a yellowish background and is marked
as "Submitted".

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
Access keys are used to quickly jump around different pages using

navigation has changed a lot int he last few versions of Mahara, a lot

Access keys that control buttons that open and close submenus arent
needed any longer as they dont actually link to any other pages.

Only the ones like 'D' for Dashboard should stay as these link to
  other pages.

The access key changes will also need to be updated in the user manual:

p: portfolio - now called pages and collections
there are no longer separate admin and regular access keys as both menus are

Title:
Allow site stats column options to respect enabled config options

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Some of the options in Mahara need to be enabled in the config file or
  in the Site configuration settings.

If these options also cause statistical information to be displayed we
need to make sure the option is enabled.

For example there is the user's details statistics where we can show
  probation number but only if $cfg->probationenabled = true;

So we should disable the choosing of that column if the
  'probationenabled' is false

This can be seen under the Reports -> User details report

Title:
"More options" button on artefact details page doesn't have title text

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
When you are on the artefact details page on a page, the "More
options" button doesn't have a title tag. It should have it though so
people can hover over the button and see what it does.

  Things to fix:

  1. The screen reader text should state "More options" instead of just "More
...".
  2. The title tag for the button should state "More options" like the "More
options" button on the regular page.

Title:
Set up a SmartEvidence framework in the admin interface

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Currently (in 16.10) we can upload a .matrix file containing a Smart
  Evidence framework

But once it is uploaded we are unable to alter it via the web
  interface (only through the database).

What would be good is an admin interface that at least allowed for the
editing of the field names and the re-ordering of evidence elements as
  well as adding new elements

A thing to take into account is should one be allowed to edit a Smart
Evidence framework once it is already being used and if so what things
are ok to edit at that point and what things can be edited before it
  is in use.

I'm thinking order and field values can be edited before it is in use.

Once someone is using it then the order / fields for current framework
should be set - but maybe possible to add new standard elements to
  framework.

Also it would be good to have a 'copy framework' option to be able to
  duplicate a framework
