It seems my mailman installation doesn't have that file, it's not in the
bin directory and a "locate msgfmt.py" returns nothing... is there
somewhere I can grab it?

Thank you.

The replacement for the tag is built on the fly by the
Mailman/Cgi/subscribe.py module. See that module for the English strings
involved. These strings are the keys for the pt_BR translations in
messages/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES/mailman.po.

They are saved in files with names like spam-LISTNAME-NNN.msg in
Mailman's 'spam' directory which is located in Mailman's VAR_PREFIX
directory, i.e., at /usr/local/mailman/spam/ in a default install, but
may differ in your installation.

There is no Mailman web UI for accessing these messages.

[Mailman-Users] [Question] Where are the Moderated Messages?

Good evening.

I have a Question:

I have moderated a Mail and used the Option "Keep Message for Moderator"
(or whatever the correct english Translation is).

Now i want to look into that Message as we want to Ban this person. But
i can not find it anywhere. Is there a hidden option to Access it??

I am only the Administrator of the List not the Server Admin. This is
handled by another Department.

Have i overseen something? Or is the Message gone forever as i dont have
it additionally forwarded to a specific address?

Thank You and Sorry for the bad english :)

Moderators only have access to the "Pending Moderator Request" page.
>From there they can approve/reject/discard posts made to the list and
held. While they are doing this, they can also remove the moderation
flag from a user whose post has been held, or add non-subscribers to the
auto-approval or auto-reject lists or ban them from subscribing.

These are the powers of a moderator.

"Managing Subscriptions" is an administrator duty in Mailman.

I have a couple of questions:

1) What file would I modify to customize the text for the subscription
results? I'm looking to customize the text in another language (pt_BR) but
I can't find the text file. I do see the subscribe.html template and it
makes a mention to

2) Is it possible to unsubscribe via the web in a similar fashion as using
the cgi-bin/subscribe method? I don't see an unsubscribe script under

Hi,

There are many things that can break, depending on Mailman version
differences, other mods, etc., so make a good backup first.

Download a "diff" of the security-logging changes from this URL:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~jimpop/mailman/security-logging/revision/1375?start_revid=1375

Copy the 1375_1374.diff file to your mailman/ home directory (the
directory containing Mailman/ bin/ cron/ scripts/ etc), and then apply
it with this command:

patch -p0 -b -V numbered < 1375_1374.diff

You will need to restart mailman afterwards, and then check
mailman/logs/errors (for any errors) and check to make sure
mailman/logs/security exists. Then try a few failed login attempts on
one of your lists.

Hth,

[Mailman-Users] Google Groups Migration API?

I wonder if anyone on this list can share a script to migrate Mailman

I'm actually looking to move mbox files made by 2 or 3 other software

Tell him to use the proper email address without "-bounce" in the name part.

That message should normally only go to the list admin, you say HE got
it, is he an admin?

Was it a bounce message (attached)? IF so, what does the bounce message
say was the problem?

If not, did they send the message to listname-bounces instead of listname?
