MailMate plays some role in this, but I haven't figured out exactly how yet. Is there a configuration options which would force me to choose either before I start composing, or force me to choose at the point of sending? I've actually very recently added an experimental hidden preference which is completely untested: defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmNeverDeriveSenderBasedOnRecipient -bool YES The next time MailMate is updated then you can let me know if it actually works :) -- Benny ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate

The worst culprit in my experience is App Store. I often _do_ want to read the details of updates but the light grey text defeats my best endeavours if I am tired. With the lengthier descriptions I sometimes take a screenshot and if I'm going to put bits into an email or newsgroup post I'll OCR that. ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate
Re: [MlMt] Change default "from" email address behaviour
@Sherif - Thanks for the suggestion - that has been my latest attempt to overcome whatever the (dumb) perception / UI /lack of attention to detail issue I have….. much helped by using the following excellent hidden preference defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmComposerInitialFocus -string "alwaysTextView" @Benny - looks promising! It’s a shame that your excellent design idea doesn’t work for every user! I will try to remember to report back…..
