[mailop] Recommendations for mail campaign services

2021-05-05 Thread Geoff Mulligan via mailop
I'm working with a non-profit company that would like to use an e-mail
campaign system.

Does anyone have any recommendations: mailchimp, sendgrid, ...

Thanks,
    Geoff

I have been a big fan of using Marketo. Many of my use cases for that platform

I would definitely stay away from SendGrid unless you get a dedicated IP.

I have seen success with MailChimp and Constant Contact and MailGun.

No matter what you do, just make sure your SPF/DKIM/DMARC is handled properly
for reliable delivery.
Don't mailchimp, Constant Contact and Mailgun deal with the details of
SPF/DKIM and DMARC?

These folks just want to run a beneficial non-profit and can't spell SPF.

Will this campaign involve sending to any recipients that have not
specifically agreed to receive bulk email from this company?

Will it involve sending to mailing lists purchased from or traded with
any other entity?

[mailop] large number of mail connections

2022-03-20 Thread Geoff Mulligan via mailop
I have 3 different mail servers that are currently being inundated with
mail connections from:

109.237.103.42

This appears to be from Russia - go figure.

[mailop] forwarding to gmail - problem

2022-04-28 Thread Geoff Mulligan via mailop
I have a user on one of my servers that uses procmail to forward
messages to their gmail account.

Every once in a while messages sent to them are "bounced" to the sender
with the error fro gmail:

550-5.7.26 This message does not have authentication information or fails to
550-5.7.26 pass
authentication checks. To best protect our users from spam, the 550-5.7.26
message has been blocked.

How can I diagnose this???

Is it that the message sender's domain has a DMARC setting or some such
that gmail is using and that my server (which is just forwarding the
message) is failing?

If so, how is someone supposed to forward messages to gmail???

Thanks,
 Geoff

[mailop] diagnosing me.com and mac.com rejections

2020-11-27 Thread Geoff Mulligan via mailop
Is there anyone that has experience diagnosing issues when sending to
mac.com/me.com/icloud.com?

I have been sending to apple for ages without a problem.  Some time in
past month (maybe two) I started getting rejections?

Nothing in the message seems to help diagnose the issue.  It just says
rejected due to local policy?

Thanks,
   Geoff

thank you.  I did check and follow the link and I have reached out to apple.

We'll see.

I just wish that their rejection message had some better error indication.
