Hi Alexandre,

Thank you for your reply and apologies for my late response.

Jeremy from Orange replied (to my original post) off-list and the
problem is now sorted.

Best,
Mark

2024-04-18 Thread Alexandre Schmit-Baverel via mailop
Howdy,

You can Find Axelle Allouch or Mat Antoine on the M3AAWG or Emailgeek's
slack, both are in the postmaster service for Orange, but usually they are
pretty reactives with the forms. (and they will certainly say that you have
to go thru the form anyway, please be patient or respond to the ticket)

In the meanwhile, which NDR do you have, can you provide an SMTP answer?
I might be able to tell you what's wrong as i'm used to deal with Orange
as a french ESP.
Have a nice day !

Bonjour !

En attendant, tu saurais me dire quel NDR vous avez ? (me donner une
réponse SMTP ?)
Je devrais pouvoir aider car en tant qu'ESP français je suis habitué à
Orange :)
Bonne journée !

Re: [mailop] Contact at Orange.fr

2018-12-06 Thread Benjamin BILLON
For PowerMTA specific questions, I strongly advise to ask on
https://forum.port25.com rather than here.

That being said: why using "route"? Why the queue? Maybe it's related to your
specific settings, but it might not be useful.
Hint: limit your max-msg-per-connection to less. Start with 50 then try to
increase, if necessary.

Try this:

domain-macro orange-domains wanadoo.fr, orange.fr
mx-connection-limit smtp-in.orange.fr 3

   max-smtp-out 1
   max-msg-per-connection 50

Note that using a domain-macro won't aggregate the setting the the macro. It
just makes your conf shorter.
So the above is exactly the same as

mx-connection-limit smtp-in.orange.fr 3

   max-smtp-out 1
   max-msg-per-connection 50

   max-smtp-out 1
   max-msg-per-connection 50

LOL!

Oh well...

defined a macro...

domain-macro orange-domains wanadoo.fr, orange.fr

defined a queue...

   route smtp-in.orange.fr
   max-smtp-out 1
   max-msg-per-connection 500

and then told it to redirect stuff...

# Domain Settings

   queue-to smtp-in.orange.fr.queue

and still getting

SMTP service unavailable: "421 mwinf5c53 ME Trop de connexions, veuillez
verifier votre configuration. Too many connections, slow down. OFR004_104 [104]"

The trick is I have three PMTAs here harnessed together, so max-smtp-out 1
translates to 3 connections, 1 per PMTA.

So, I think I will have to get in touch with the folks at Orange to clarify
this.

One thing I did, which is a bit naughty, is pushed the max-msg-per-connection
to 500 from 100... Doesn't seem to affect anything negatively.

Hello Mathieu,

Thanks for the tip.

My issue with using PMTA queues is that I only know of the 'route' directive to
pass the mailings to the specific MX server: this can be a problem if the ISP
changes their MX server's addresses, and the change could go unnoticed.

Is there a way to queue up two domains and have the queue deliver to the DNS
provided MX record of a specific domain?

mx-connection-limit does the trick

Pmta forums probably have detailed examples too

Hello Mathieu,

Thanks for the tip.

My issue with using PMTA queues is that I only know of the 'route' directive to
pass the mailings to the specific MX server: this can be a problem if the ISP
changes their MX server's addresses, and the change could go unnoticed.

Is there a way to queue up two domains and have the queue deliver to the DNS
provided MX record of a specific domain?

Best regards,

Hi Dragutin,

Limit rates for Orange/wanadoo is 3 connection per IP. Often issues are caused
by not taking into account wanadoo.fr domain addresses as this is the same
operator (meaning you have to manage this on a mx basis, not just domain). If
you use PMTA for sending wrap both domains in the same queue.

Mathieu.

Hi Benjamin, et. al,

Thank you for the feedback.

Essentially, I am trying to find out what are the optimal/recommended MTA/SMTP
connection settings for orange.fr.

I ran into several online articles on the topic, but they are somewhat
contradicting.

For IPs with ReturnPath Certification, you can increase the number of
concurrent connection by IP.
