I am stuck on how to update part of the city name if it occurs at the end. For instance, HTS is an abbreviation for Heights. I can successfully update Vadnais Hts, and Mendota Hts, but not Oak Park Hts as it begins the replacement after the first space, not the second, or perhaps even third. Thank you. Re: MI-L Finding the PDF Output path
You can also change the default destination by adding a new printer port and entering the desired path as the port location, then check this port as the one to use. It seems that the folder into which the plots are created depends on the version number or on what the user sets up. Since I want to automate the printing process with MapBasic, I'd also like to be able to locate that folder automatically. Does anyone know where Adobe stores information about its 'PDF Output' folder? Re: MI-L Printing to Acrobat Distiller
Hi Bill, We use Distiller 5.0 here. In printer preferences there is a check box under the Adobe PDF Settings tab that says view results in Acrobat. Uncheck it and it won't display the pdf you just made. Do you know how to feed a path and file name directly to Distiller from MapBasic? Re: MI-L text object content to row
Hi Nebojsa, Try updating yur column with objectinfo(obj,3) Gary Nebojsa Pesic [EMAIL PROTECTED] 09/03/03 06:36PM Hello, I have MapInfo table with 3 columns: X, Y and _DXFElevation. Every row in this table is text object (on my map) that represent real elevations (example 220.00,134.00...etc). X and Y are coordinates of text object but DXFElevation column is filled up with 0. I have about 4000 records so I need to fill DXFElevation column automatically with text on the map (elevation data). More precise, I need to copy this elevation data in text form into a coresponding row. I need this for later exporting to CAD software for some 3D work. I don't know how to make an expression in Update Column table but i,m sure that I read somwhere that this could be done. TIA -- Neboj¹a Pe¹iæ civ. ing. MI-L Text object halos
Hello All, This is a re-submission of a question I asked a couple of weeks ago (about the time everyone went on holiday). Does anyone have any idea how to go about this? - Can anyone tell me how to write a MapBasic function that will add halos to selected text. The selected text objects may not be all the same font style or size but should all get the same color halo. It can be done using the tools in MapInfo, but I can't figure out how to write the function. Any help would be appreciated. RE: MI-L passing variable names
HI Frank, You have to say varName = myVar2(passedInteger) gary --- I have a set of array variables, let's call them myVar1, myVar2 etc. I want to extract a value from one of my arrays, based on an integer that gets passed, along with the name of the array to get it from. ie: I want to get myVar2(10) and note it. so... passedInteger = 10 varName = myVar2 myCommand = note + varname + ( + passedInteger + ) run command myCommand which should resolve to myVar2(10) which in turn resolves to give the value contained in the array. However, I get an error telling my that the variable isn't defined - it is. Any comments? Hope I've made myself clear...
