Have submitted my times, but I did want to mention that these options
look a bit sub-optimal for folks in Europe. A few early morning times
Eastern might be best.

Hi all! Hope you've been having a good New Year so far.

Now that we're in 2016, I'd like to go ahead and start polling for
timeslots for the new Marketing meeting time frame. I think it's
important that we get this rolling sooner or later, and I think there's
a good number of things we can talk about already.

Please go to the poll and choose the times on the grid that work for
you. Remember to choose your time zone at the top.

Looking forward to getting 2016 Fedora Marketing started!

Yes. We definitely need to overhaul the wiki...

Not sure I fully grok what you're suggesting here. I think you're saying
monthly meeting to go through tickets, but no sure about "plan meeting
time based on our tasks."

Yeah, I think the magazine folks have a system that's working and don't
want to tamper with that. This would be for all other marketing issues,
and if we have something specific to the magazine we can hit up that
meeting.

CommOps will add this to our "WikiGardening" section for our next
meeting (after the new year.) We could still use a battle plan though,
in addition to refreshing and revamping old SoP's, and other mktg
content I we already know to be out of date.

Ticket based meetings work well for design, and have worked decently
well for CommOps thusfar too. We didn't use this model at first
because our team infrastructure wasn't quite up to speed (people or
tech wise) but I think we've gotten the hang of it now. I would def
recommend bi-weekly, ticket based meetings, at the very least. CommOps
will ship a "whenisgood" poll for this in the near future to nail down
days/times.

Yes, def agree with jzb here. Magazine is rocking and rolling, and we
want that to continue humming along at full-speed :)

Hello Joe,
I meant that, excluding Magazine stuff, there is spare time where we
don't have anything really urgent to discuss and we could base the
meetings time on the marketing tasks [1] because there are days in
which we need to be synchronized.Of course if we decide to manage those
tasks through the trac this proposal doesn't make any sense.

Hope I have explained better what I meant.

[Marketing] Getting in gear for 2016

2015-12-17 Thread Justin W. Flory

Hey all,

It was discussed in channel that it might be a good idea to reboot
regular Marketing meetings in 2016 to help get on track and ready for
2016. Gabri is helping bring back the retrospective to let us reflect
back on what we've done and where we can improve - this might make a
good discussion topic for jumping back in with a meeting.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/2015_marketing_retrospective

It was also mentioned that it might be good to include CommOps on the
discussion to help connect Marketing to the other parts of the Project.

What are all of your timetables looking like for the New Year and do we
want to look at putting meetings back on the map? I've only been here
for a few months and I've mostly been in the Magazine, so I know there
are others who have been around for many more cycles than me that might
have some experienced thoughts to offer.

Thanks all!

Tickets wouldn't hurt. It's been a while so I don't recall how much we
were using Trac at the time, but it couldn't hurt.

It seems to me it was weekly for a while, then bi-weekly. Again, it's
been a long while (2013, early 2014 maybe?) and a new flock of Fedorans
to help kickstart.
