[MCN-L] School Tour Scheduling Software
Greetings, What do you use to schedule, confirm, track payments and create receipts for school tours? Currently, we use Vista which is way more than we need. Someone please tell me that there is something simpler and cheaper out there. We just updated the program and lost a custom report. We use Artifax, which was customized for us for school tours. We do not charge for school tours, so there is no payments and receipts, but I believe that they have that function. Because of the customization we have not been able to upgrade but they have just given us an upgrade path that includes our customization. John R. Melissa - When I worked for the Connecticut Historical Society we used Filemaker Pro. I couldn't tell you how much it cost, as it was installed before I got there. We had approximately 30K between two locations, in addition to Outreach programs/year. I know they did have a tech guy come in to costume design it. Good luck! Melissa, We use ABC Event Manager for tours and special events. It is inexpensive, has unlimited users, and a backdoor to Microsoft Access so you can create as many custom reports that you want without the worry about the upgrades writing over your customizations. We do not charge for tours, but I know that the program can produce invoices. We use it for scheduling, contact management, tour confirmations (hard copy or email) and resource management. We are in the process of reviewing our needs and looking at other software as well. We have looked at Artifax, Vista, and EBMS. There are advantages and disadvantages of each one.
