Re: MD: GEt your green markers here
I've got just the green marker you need! It's on special too. Step right this way. Don't mind those technical guys, they don't know what the heck they are talking about.. Besides, I can't get them to accept any kick backs from my Green Markers For You, Inc. Now those What HiFI guys, those are the ones ya gotta listen to.. damn straight. Yeah, they work wonders. I was able to hear all sorts of shit with the green marker. Hell, if you get a nice even coat of green marker ink on the disc, it REALLY sounds good. BTW, pink marker on the side of a MD will improve the decoding of ATRAC audio. -J.R. YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! Try it today - there's no risk! === = NB: Over 50% of this message is QUOTED, please = = be more selective when quoting text = === Hi Mark, I just bought an 831 two days ago. Hot little product. I just made some digital recordings from my laptop last night. I bought an optical cable with the rectangular connector on one end which plugs into my laptop optical SPDIF output connector. Then I used my MP3 player to play my MP3 tracks as I normally do - the data is streamed out the SPDIF port. You can put the 831 in synchro mode to autostart when a digital signal is present. MD: Sharp Frustration!
Dear Mders, I've recently had a bad experience with my Sharp 702 MD. The AC Adaptor burnt out on me. I said, no problem go to the local electronics store, spend 12 dollars and get another. Since then I have searched all over NYC and all over the US via the internet and no one carries a 5v/800ma AC adaptor. They have every voltage EXCEPT the one I need. I called Sharp and they sent me to their distributor who sells the thing for $50 plus s/h. A real rip-off. I am SO irritated about this because these things sell for $12 for every other voltage. I spoke to someone at one of the Minidisc companies...and he told me off the record that a 4.5 voltage adaptor will work just fine. Know anything about this? Any other suggestions? Thanks very much! -todd a - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: Sharp Frustration!
Todd I sent you a priivate E-Mail-maybe you didn't get it. My Sharp 702 was run over after it fell out of my pocket a couple of years ago while I was running. I saved the AC Adaptor for whatever reason, I just pulled it out after reading your post. It is the original AC Adaptor that is quite different looking from the Sony's and most others. You can have it for $25 including shipping. E-Mail me if you're interested. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I use a 4.5V charger with my MT-821 (bought it in Japan, Australia uses 240V). Works fine. The difference is that while the 5V one will charge while the MD is playing, at 4.5V it won't. It charges when switched off though. The reason they have to support 4.5V is that it's easily stepped down to from 12V as used in cars. Read the spec sheet of your MD to see if it supports 4.5V. They seem to accept more than one voltage. --- Rev Simon Rumble The Roman Rule: [EMAIL PROTECTED] The one who says it cannot be done should never http://www.rumble.net interrupt the one who is doing it. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: Sony R90/R91: I found one major difference
=== = NB: Over 50% of this message is QUOTED, please = = be more selective when quoting text = === Thanks for the info... another reason not to buy the R90 :) Leon The VU (level) meter is calibrated differently on the two units. Read on: The R90's (at least MY R90, this might not be the case with newer units) level meter will hit the ninth (and final) bar regularly, while "OVER" is somewhere to the right of the final bar, making it difficult to measure whether a recording is going OVER or not. This is unlike the R55, where 0dB was between the 8th and 9th bars, and OVER was indicated by the ninth bar (this was much easier to read). The 91 (at least my roommate's R91) is calibrated like the R55, where the 8th is about as high as it goes normally, and OVER is indicated by the 9th bar. I have compared a number of discs between the two units, and on all of them, the 9th bar on the R90's meter corresponds to the 8th bar of the R91. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
