Subject: [bootlegMD] Help w/ my Sony MDS-JE520
Date: Sat, 11 Dec 1999 18:26:27 -0800 (PST)

Hi guys!

After a long period of use today, my Sony MDS-JE520
says an error message:

AD - DA

does anyone know what that means?

It's under seven months old, under Sony's one-year
warranty, but I can't find my receipt (proof of
purchase) so I may be screwed into paying for repairs.

MD: headphones: down to 2

1999-10-12 Thread Tracy Doyle

Regarding my last post thread on best headphones.I order the Koss
Portapros for my small headphones, but now I am down to 2 choices for the
full size, either the Grado SR60 or the Sennheiser 490's. What so you guys
think? I have heard through many sites that the Grado's are the best [for
portable players] but that they are uncomfortable. I can't find any local
dealer where I live that carry the Grados for me to try them out. I have
however been able to find and try out the Sennheisers and I must say I found
them very light and comfortable. I thought the sound was very good as well.
Anybody own the Grados that can comment on the sound and comfort of these
headphones?? I can get the Grados for $69 and the Sennheisers for @$80.
SOwhich one should I get? I would like a headphone that has very good
bass response as not to get that "treblely" headphone sound, but I don't
want a pair of phones that are uncomfortable to wear..

-Thanks for any help

MD: MDS-JE510 problem

1999-09-21 Thread Tracy Doyle

Just wanted to ask about this JE510 "self turn on" syndrome. My unit
started this a couple months ago, convienently 2-3 weeks after the 1 yr
warrenty expired!! :^(. Do you know if this causes any problems other than
the inconvience of turning it off a couple of times after I stop using it?
If I just unplug it every time I finish using it will that hurt the unit
any? Does this lead to the unit dying sometime soon? I hope I am not
"screwed" on this. I just called Sony, and the rep said she had never heard
of this. Neither Sony or One Call where I bought it will stand behing their
sale after the 1 yr. UG! Please help ;^)
