Size limit itu penting utk menjaga server kita tdk di salah gunakan oleh user yg egois dan absurd (dipikir mail adalah media paling cocok utk kirim size besar dan seluruh dunia menerapkan smtp size unlimited spt dirinya). Hakekat mail adalah media komunikasi utk saling bertukar kata bukan bertukar data (besar); utk tukar data (besar) lbh cocok menggunakan ftp/http. Dear Pak Syafril and rekan2, :) Saya perhatikan, apabila kita attach file sekitar 1.1 MB ke suatu email kosong, maka ukuran email tsb akan menjadi sekitar 1.5 MB. Apakah penambahan ukuran file di email ini menggunakan ratio yang pasti or tergantung tipe file yg di attach? Kira2 bagaimana cara menghitungnya? Thx. Sementara yg terbesar jika pakai format HTML, encoding QP (Quote Printable) dan characterset yg perlu 8-bit (mis. europe characterset), enlargementnya berkisar 30% - 80 %. Anda perlu melihat efek pembesaran ini di level server (lihat dari smtp-in/out log), jangan di email client; krn saat message dibaca oleh email client sudah di decode shg sizenya normal. saya coba send file 60k ke diri sendiri, client = the bat: saya melihatnya dari sent items, itu size sudah melar 50%. saya melihatnya dari inbox items, size juga melar 50%. kadang kita batasi smtp session maximum 6 mb, tapi user komplain, ukuran file attachment dia cuma 5 mb, tapi kok ngak bisa terkirim? :) Kira2 bagaimana cara menghitungnya? Sebenarnya akan lebih menarik jika pertanyaannya bagaimana cara mengakalinya agar attachment otomatis di strip dan diletakkan di http/ftp link :-) Mohon Suhu beri petunjuk kepada teecu. :-) Thx. Bat! versi berapa ? versi 2.x keatas bisa di set compose html yg membuat attachment membesar lbh dari 50%. Jika Anda pakai format plain-text, characterset us-ascii dan MIME base none akan mdpkan enlargement size terkecil. kadang kita batasi smtp session maximum 6 mb, tapi user komplain, ukuran file attachment dia cuma 5 mb, tapi kok ngak bisa terkirim? :) Lihat di smtp-in log, disitu akan terlihat brp persisnya mail size yg dikirim. Sebenarnya akan lebih menarik jika pertanyaannya bagaimana cara mengakalinya agar attachment otomatis di strip dan diletakkan di http/ftp link :-) Mohon Suhu beri petunjuk kepada teecu. :-) Gunakan attachment linking (saya lupa persisnya di MD 6.x sdh ada atau belum), lalu create web site misalkan http://link.domain.co.id yg pointing ke attachment linking folder. Cara lain bisa pakai CF rule utk strip attachmentnya lalu letakkan di folder \\inetpub\wwwroot\link.domain.co.id\users\ Action kedua melakukan append footer di message yg telah di stip tadi menunjukan URL link attachment.
