I think you need to be careful with the ratchet design to ensure it is engaged
properly but I have used a couple of
sets for years under pickup trucks, suburbans etc and nothing has ever gone
wrong with them. It a tooth did break,
it should just jamb in the hole in any event. I don't think you will see
anything drop unless you fail to set them
properly to start with. Some do seem a bit tighter and thus easier to
mis-adjust.

Yeah, I've bought the same deal a few times. Or you can get one car
for $4.99 or $9.99 or something, which is silly since if you are
seriously car-shopping you're undoubtedly going to need more than one.

I did 418 miles on my last tank and it took 60 litres to fill. The book says
the tank should hold 78 litres so I
should have been able to make 500 miles on the tank if I had kept moving. That
is better than 26 mpg converted to
US gallons. That is the best I have managed in the 3 summers I have driven it.

Still wouldn't mind having the aux tank.

2007-10-11 Thread R A Bennell
Over the past 3 summers I have driven it just about 6K miles. So far my average
is just over 20 mpg US. The best I
had done previously was about 23 mpg on a highway trip. This time, over 26 mpg
but I was going a bit slower due to
the wildlife.

I have heard that driving the old diesels is good for them so maybe it is the
case with my car. I don't think it
had been driven much for quite a while before I got it.
