Re: [MBZ] Kleb Oil (Dino)

2013-02-20 Thread Gerry Archer
If the burn isn't extremely bad, many of the locals use hemorrhoid ointment
which has a local anesthetic as well as healing properties. Nupercainal
seems to be the favorite brand but some people say Preperation H is better.
Of course, the locals seldom get sunburned since many have year-round tans
and use sunblock as well. Nupercainal eases the pain a great deal.

Actually the best thing is to find someone with an aloe vera plant. peel
off one leaf at a time. Break open the leaves and schmear the innards all
over the burn. Its the only thing that really helps. You heal faster too.

Kleb will be seeing the dermatologist in ~20 years, having skin cancer cut

I watched the episonde of Wheeler Dealers where they resurrected a
2003 (?) SLK Kompressor. Very entertaining show! After it was
properly sorted out they sold what was basically a $50K car for 3750
pounds sterling (around $7,000), clearing about 500 pounds' profit.
They managed to pick it up from a shady dealership for only $2100
pounds. It was fun watching the tech sort out/replace the
nonfunctional hard top, spongey brakes, rust spots, incorrect alloys,
and noisy supercharger. They hired a mobile body shop to do the rust
spots at their garage for very little money. Do those exist around
here?

You are correct that I was referring to the AR-15. Those are indeed
available in many other calibers than 5.56 (similar to .223 Remington).
Some in the 6.5-7.62mm range might be suitable for Boar. The AR-15 is
actually a scaled-down version of the earlier AR-10; which fires the 7.62
NATO cartridge (similar to .308 Winchester). This is a very suitable round
for hunting large Boar.

I'm not going to take a position pro or con on the hunting ethics of the
following: Many believe that since the feral hogs are considered vermin
rather than game animals they are not as deserving of a humane one-shot kill
as is a majestic Whitetail or Mule Deer buck. They are often encountered on
the run and in groups, so shooters are trying to take as many as possible
with rapid follow-up shots. Thus the incentive for the use of an AR-type
rifle over a more conventional field weapon.

BTW, moose are not that tough to bring down despite their size. My cousin
has taken many moose with a .270 Win. Elk and certainly Bison merit more
potent arms.

The one the antis really want to ban is the AR-15 which is a .223, not much
of a wild boar gun I think. For a dangerous game like that I'd prefer dad's
.50-70 Sharps, sure I don't get a quick second shot but I'm enough of a
marksman I'm almost certainly going to hit what I shoot at and with a 300
grain projectile that which has been shot isn't going to do much running
around afterward.

When I shot the moose in '99 I used a .348 Winchester. Not because a moose
is dangerous particularly (although I wouldn't want to make one mad) but
because I didn't want it going anywhere after it was shot. It didn't either,
didn't take one step.

Dad shot his in 2009 with a .577 Snider, hit it in the ear. That moose
didn't know what hit her, the ultimate humane kill.

Actually, just SDS will work, Xentry is kinda overkill.

If you buy an eBay multiplexer, buy one with two round connectors on the brick;
they may be 3rd shift versions from the same factory that makes/made the

Avoid the ones that have a RS-232 on the MUX directly.

You will also want a ThinkPad T30...

Although you can use a Baum CS2000/iScan D90 for some of the more mundane

BTW, my E300's have both the OBDII and the OBD connector, and if I am not
mistaken, when you have both, you should use the 38 pin round connector.

LED and Euro were concurrent. Prior DOT lights worked, change from dual 4 port

What are you seeing? Could be the demographics, as you point out. More people
here into alternative things and doing hippy stuff. BioD makes them happy and
it is hipster-er to have a common man car on veg or hemp oil. Gas cars would
be more executive and less hipster to drive. Diesel is simple, low cylinder
count, instead of the V engines that take wallets full of cash to keep on the
road.

There are a number of S type cars with little russian or oriental ladies at the
wheel. The upscale, tech end of town, instead of the former lumber yard
neighborhoods. Microsoft wives instead of the younger crowd.

Do you have a lamp out indicator on that car? If you do , the current for

 headlight.

I never did figure out what the problem was on the old 300D, I finally just
ran a new wire from the fuse to the lamp. Worked fine, but the lamp out
warning came on all the time.

You can also have a loose connection on the bottom of the fuse holder inside
underneath. Not visible until you take the fuse box apart.

Gump pulled in $250 for a stripped down hulk. Would have been $300 if I took

Ah, but the Fiesta isn't Diesel Will a Fiesta average 45mpg and hit 53
on occaision? Is it GERMAN (but made in the USA)?
Yes, the Passat was probably too much money, and an old persons car, but we

Re: [MBZ] Mystery headlight

2013-02-20 Thread Max Dillon
Probably something in the euro light is dorked, if you didn't make a mistake in
your wiring. Bad connector?

Either the low beam element is not getting power (most likely) or ground.

Is the ground shared with high beam? That would eliminate half the potential
problems.
