[MBZ] buymbparts

2013-09-01 Thread Trent Fiorini
I am going to stop following this discussion group, there is really no
sense in it. I posted that buymbparts is back, that's for Rusty. you all
know I am buying this business from him. The whole Gary, Rusty thing, me
not shipping parts is allot. I bit off more than I could chew buying this
business. I admit that, on my behalf, I'm here, 800-741-5252. if i did
wrong, call me. Gary, shame on you. I don't know your health issues, or
whatever else you have going on, and it would be un-fare for me to assume
what happened between you and Rusty, but I do know your dealings is what
I'm dealing with. I have to say Rusty loved this business, he loves cars,
and of course mercedes, You all might think there is huge money dealing in
these parts, there's not. I don't know the whole buymbparts story. or where
anybody went wrong, I can only speak for myself, I bit off more than I
could chew. I am 46 years old, and hope to retire someday in my 70's
selling Mercedes parts. I may know a little about them them. For now I'm
here, and BUYMBPARTS will be also.

G: Not if you keep them for 30 years. (grin)

Which is why I didn't recommend the new Dodge Dart. It's a worthy
competitor to the Fusion IMHO and gets closer to 40 mpg on the highway,
but

they aren't selling too well and I have my doubts that Chrysler will be
around in five years. I predict that Fiat will bungle their acquisition
of

the company, cut their losses just like Daimler did, and the only part of
the company left standing will be Jeep, which'll probably be bought by one
of the Japanese companies (rebadged Land Cruiser as the new Grand
Cherokee?).

Alex

That sounds like a very possible scenario. It's a shame, too, since
Chrysler has built some exceptional cars in the past. I had a Plymouth and
a Dodge with those nearly unbreakeable slant sixes hooked to 747
transmissions. Tuned up, and with careful driving, they would get 25 mpg.

2013-09-01 Thread rogerhga
Well guys, since I've owned a 116 (1980 300SD) for about 16-17 years, I can say
I am a fan of the 116s, or at least the last year model. My 1980 still has the
original engine, never had the head off, original IP, original exhaust...front
to rear, and almost everything else. I did replace the seats (pads and leather)
about 12 years ago, and just recently put in a used tranny (original had about
425,000 on it). Yes, I've replaced several servos, but only 1 a/c compressor
when it was converted to 134a about 9-10 years ago. It starts fine, runs fine,
and is an absolute pleasure to drive and ride in. Now, the Northern ones
probably get rust, but I'm in GA and the car has always been Southern.
I've seen lots of folks comment about how great the 126 is. Well, not me. I've
ridden in a few and didn't like it (personal butt preference I know). The
monovalves go too often on that system (I have it on my 1983 300D) and all the
plastic around the bottom makes the car look cheap in my eyes (again, that
personal preference) . I've also seen way too many with the front seats all
cracked or torn because apparently the seats are not designed as good as in the
116. And I've seen too many cases of rust hiding behind all the plastic
skirting around the lower body.
Just my opinion to add.
Best Wishes,

When i was a kid, I spent summers with my grandparents in KY. They
lived on farms near this little town, maybe 20k people if that. One day
I go to the grocery with my granddaddy, he is driving this gold/white
chebbie pickup he had. I was maybe 10 or so. We go into the store, get
whatever, come back out, get in the truck, he puts the key in and starts
it up. I am a bit muddled and say I don't think this is your truck.
He says sure it is. I say no, you had xyz in here, and where is your
whatever, and he looks and says yeah you're right. So we look around
the parking lot, and there sat his truck next row over, identical to
this one. So we get our stuff, and go get in his truck and drive off.

So what are the odds of 2 identical trucks, same ignition switch, in
this little town, being parked near one another at the same little
grocery store at the same time?

In the 60's, pretty high, they didn't use many key variations (on the order of

I've heard the same story from several people. Knowing GM, they may have even

If he sinks or swims, it will be his decision. Actions have consequences

Kaleb,
I suggest, since there are still apparently outstanding debts to be
settled, that you let nature take it's course and leave the list slot
Trent

holds as it is.

Trent will come to his own eventually. If he stays in the business and
makes it anything like Rust had built it into, he will find the group here

If he sinks or swims, it will be his decision. Actions have consequences

business, I'm sure Gary could imput on this, huh Gary??? Rusty and Gary were partners,
notice Rusty is not adding here his two cents, he should, telling how Gary sold
buymbparts.com to the highest bidder. I am buying this business from Rusty, i may
not have made the best choices on the way, but,I dealt with things, but there has been
alot of issues. Huh Gary. at least I haven't stole, Huh Gary. I do not have the
experiance Rusty had, but I'm trying. I have Tom back to help me with that, and hopefully
am able to supply you with the quality parts you want. This will be rare for me to post
on here, But I am not affilliated with buymbparts.com . Gary put the whammy on that. nor
am I affiliated with any parts site of Gary's. buyeuruoparts.com . The whole Rusty Gary

71 definitely was, but sometime during 72 it was changed to 450 for
the US market. Big bumpers in August 72 for the 73 model year, so the
350 and small bumper in either designation are rare.

I've seen them all, but only one each of the 350 and the 450 with
small bumpers.

I don't think the 350 passed the US emissions and the 450 did using

months with your money. yet you continue to consider him to be a
legitimate source of parts. how? why? isn't this what got you guys in

what could possibly be driving this minority group of trentistas?

I think Gary is absolutely on the mark here. Why are we still even
discussing doing business with a guy who not only owes people on the list
money still, but even has had several criminal actions filed against him
for mail fraud or some such? He's as much as indicated in his two recent
ranting messages to the list that he didn't know what he was getting into
when he bought Rusty's business, didn't have enough starting capital, and
there's no sign that anything has changed and he now knows what he's doing.

We have to be careful of slandering people, accusing someone of being an
alcoholic is pretty strong stuff.

Perhaps Trent has issues with alcohol but we don't know this for certain.

Anyway I wrote a while back that his first course of action is to sort
things out with Rusty, crying about how hard it is to sell parts and how
there is not a fortune to be made is BS.
It don't take a genius to work out there is not a shipload of cash to be
made on slim margins and a very competitive industry. Yes most
businesses do take a fair bit of work to be successful, what did Trent
think or what did Rusty tell him about the world of parts retailing? You
work two hours a day to make 500 bucks? I would think it's a 24/7 job,
someone discovers that they need a wheel bearing Saturday afternoon and
needs the car back on the road by Monday, needs a top notch can do type
of parts person to get that bearing there the next day.

My take is that Trent has done his dash here, instead of working hard to
prove that he is committed to being a good parts vendor, he quits the
list with a cry about how it's all too hard. That is called burning
bridges or perhaps doing the dirty in your own nest.
By the sounds of it, he still has not fixed his past mistakes and people
are still out of pocket and/or parts.
How the flying truck can he expect people to even think about dealing
with him if there is still disgruntled customers here?

I agree completely since my son has a hybrid Fusion. Problem is that I'm
looking for around 40 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg around town. Hybrid
Fusions cost about $10K more than I want to spend. Corollas, which are
selling around here fairly cheaply, get up to 40 mpg on the highway, but
I'd
rather pay a little more and get something that's a little heavier and
hopefully safer.
Gerry

Friend of mine has a 2013 CVT Sentra. Lifetime MPG keeps creeping up, most
tanks are over 40mpg now, I think he's at about 38mpg since he bought it.

Mitch.

That's good to know. I've had friends who loved Nissans and got many miles
and many years out of them. I'll have to check those out.
Thanks,
Gerry

2013-09-01 Thread Gary Hurst
why not just deal with people who don't rob you to begin with? the guy
stole from most everyone here and then lied to them about to this day. he
hasn't even acknowledged what the has done, let alone explained it.

rusty continuously threatens to murder my daughter to the point where i
have to report him to the police and end my association with him and you
guys make me the new hitler despite my treating each of you excellently.
this guy comes along out of nowhere, rips everyone off, lies about it ,
runs away and then comes back saying he wants to start over and you are
desperate to offer him a ray of light at the end of the tunnel

this is real madness

humane thing to do. Will anyone on this list try to do business with Trent

as i mentioned in the post i just made, this is really an excellent point.
even if you simply despise me to the point of your own detriment, it
doesn't explain why there is this group here who seems to be desperate for
trent to go from substance abusing thief and liar to parts superstar, for
him to learn and get better is this some kind of insane esoteric
religion or something or is there some reasonable basis for trent to be
 the
saviour you await? and why trent, who has proven himself to be the
greatest failure than anyone in this business has ever been?

something is so fabulously wrong with this picture. it has been from the
first day trent was introduced and remains so to the present day. what is
trent's allure to you trentistas? how can he have any allure to anyone?

 reliable
supply of quality Mercedes parts, from someone who acts responsibly,
 takes
my orders, fills them in a timely manner or explains to me why they can
 not
be filled, then delivers as promised.

To date, all those elements are missing. Trent needs to display some
 good
business practices and good customer treatment. The reasons those are
 missing, frankly, I don't give a damn.

I'm easy to satisfy. Just give me what I want, when I want it, at a fair
 price.

Q2 has yet to display either. To bad. Perhaps he could grow in life

 even
a lie of omission. Anything less than total truth, however harsh, is not

i've known a number of people who are huge 116 fans. i also know a far
greater number of 126 fans, particularly of 560SECs. i never like either

i like 123s a lot and 108/109s a lot. it might just be nothing more than
different strokes for difference folks (although telling a 560SEC owner
than you like a 300CD more will not be taken favorably)

 Well guys, since I've owned a 116 (1980 300SD) for about 16-17 years, I
can say I am a fan of the 116s, or at least the last year model. My 1980
still has the original engine, never had the head off, original IP,
original exhaust...front to rear, and almost everything else. I did replace
the seats (pads and leather) about 12 years ago, and just recently put in a
used tranny (original had about 425,000 on it). Yes, I've replaced several
servos, but only 1 a/c compressor when it was converted to 134a about 9-10
years ago. It starts fine, runs fine, and is an absolute pleasure to drive
and ride in. Now, the Northern ones probably get rust, but I'm in GA and
the car has always been Southern.
I've seen lots of folks comment about how great the 126 is. Well, not me.
I've ridden in a few and didn't like it (personal butt preference I know).
The monovalves go too often on that system (I have it on my 1983 300D) and
all the plastic around the bottom makes the car look cheap in my eyes
(again, that personal preference) . I've also seen way too many with the
front seats all cracked or torn because apparently the seats are not
designed as good as in the 116. And I've seen too many cases of rust hiding
behind all the plastic skirting around the lower body.
 Just my opinion to add.
 Best Wishes,

No one is dealing with Trent or is even thinking about it IMO. It's just an
interesting situation that several of us have been involved with. Those
that want to keep him on the list probably just want to see how it all plays
out.

What's this about Rusty threatening to murder your daughter and your
reporting him to the police? What about Rustys claim that you took $15K out
of his bank account?

I don't see where anyone is treating you like Hitler.

Gerrywho never ordered anything from Trent and just reads the emails.

From: Gary Hurst jabbahur...@gmail.com

why not just deal with people who don't rob you to begin with? the guy
stole from most everyone here and then lied to them about to this day. he
hasn't even acknowledged what the has done, let alone explained it.

rusty continuously threatens to murder my daughter to the point where i
have to report him to the police and end my association with him and you
guys make me the new hitler despite my treating each of you excellently.
this guy comes along out of nowhere, rips everyone off, lies about it ,
runs away and then comes back saying he wants to start over and you are
desperate to offer him a ray of light at the end of the tunnel

this is real madness

religion or something or is there some reasonable basis for trent to be
the
saviour you await? and why trent, who has proven himself to be the
greatest failure than anyone in this business has ever been?

something is so fabulously wrong with this picture. it has been from
the
first day trent was introduced and remains so to the present day. what
is

trent's allure to you trentistas? how can he have any allure to anyone?

Re: [MBZ] buymbparts

2013-09-01 Thread Gerry Archer

Hi Gary,
I've been curious to know about your relationship with Rusty ever since
Rusty claimed that you took $15K out of his account; the reason being that I
didn't know anything about you or your business methods and I was thinking
about ordering from you.
I didn't think Rusty was a saint like some of the list members do, and I
often checked his prices against other sellers on the 'net.

As of right now, I plan to order my parts from you since others have had a
good experience doing so. I'm close to deaf and don't hear very well at all
on the phone, so I'll probably be ordering online and trusting you to choose
the best compromise between highest and lowest price. I will call you at
least once to provide my CC number.

I had a hilarious experience with Rusty not long before he sold out. I
ordered a couple of driveline mounts from Rusty, and when they got here the
package contained the shippers invoice to Rusty listing the price he paid.
When I received Rustys bill by email it turned out Rusty had charged me
about $80 or $100 profit for simply ordering a dropship.
I called Rusty and asked him why he was charging me profit of twice what his
wholesale price was. There was a long silence and he finally asked me how
I knew that. I told him I had friends in California. Rusty was fit to be
tied. I thought he was going to choke. Then I started laughing and told
him about receiving his invoice in the carton from the supplier. I also
told him what other online dealers were charging for the parts. Needless to
say, I didn't have to pay anything close to his original bill.

I've had my own small businesses before, so I don't get upset at some of the
things small businessmen do because I did the same things myself years ago.
Of course, I don't let them get away with much if it costs me money.

Anyway, tell me what you care to. I'm just curious and won't spread it
around. I'm an old retired widower living alone and I don't spread gossip
or get into dustups with anyone if I can help it.

Sincerely,
Gerry

cars. The w114/115 look much better with euro lights, as do the R113, the
W116, w123, and the w126. The round lamps make it look like a beady eyed
freak. The silly round lamps in the w210 are damn ugly too.

Make sure the VW is NEW. Used VW are not as reliable and even the sales people

Which is why I didn't recommend the new Dodge Dart. It's a worthy
competitor to the Fusion IMHO and gets closer to 40 mpg on the highway, but
they aren't selling too well and I have my doubts that Chrysler will be
around in five years. I predict that Fiat will bungle their acquisition of
the company, cut their losses just like Daimler did, and the only part of
the company left standing will be Jeep, which'll probably be bought by one
of the Japanese companies (rebadged Land Cruiser as the new Grand

SWMBA likes the lines of the 116. I will grant that it is a very well built
car and has a sense of engineering and style that project confidence all
around. They are truly tanks. Maybe it is the headlights that make me shy
away. A w116 with euro lamps looks a tad bit more proper than the bug eyed DOT
lights

 Well guys, since I've owned a 116 (1980 300SD) for about 16-17 years, I can
say I am a fan of the 116s, or at least the last year model. My 1980 still
has the original engine, never had the head off, original IP, original
exhaust...front to rear, and almost everything else. I did replace the seats
(pads and leather) about 12 years ago, and just recently put in a used tranny
(original had about 425,000 on it). Yes, I've replaced several servos, but
only 1 a/c compressor when it was converted to 134a about 9-10 years ago. It
starts fine, runs fine, and is an absolute pleasure to drive and ride in.
Now, the Northern ones probably get rust, but I'm in GA and the car has
 always been Southern.
I've seen lots of folks comment about how great the 126 is. Well, not me.
I've ridden in a few and didn't like it (personal butt preference I know).
The monovalves go too often on that system (I have it on my 1983 300D) and
all the plastic around the bottom makes the car look cheap in my eyes (again,
that personal preference) . I've also seen way too many with the front seats
all cracked or torn because apparently the seats are not designed as good as
in the 116. And I've seen too many cases of rust hiding behind all the
plastic skirting around the lower body.
 Just my opinion to add.
