Re: [MBZ] more credit card fraud
A couple weeks ago the bank called my wife to tell her that our HELOC had been compromised somehow (they were vague, and how they determined this), but it appeared to be only related to her somehow. Anyway, we have our bank accounts and kids' accts at the same bank and all linked so we can transfer money around easily. All those accounts and our mortgage accts had to be number regenerated, new debit/credit cards. This is the second time that has happened in like 4 or 5 years but this was different, through the mortgage side. The bank was not sure how it might have happened but I am thinking my wife accessed the account or did some sort of payment on an unsecure network in her travels. It could have been related to the hack of the SC tax agency a few years back and just now showing up somehow. These guys are pretty sophisticated, it is a global business how. --R On 4/25/14 6:24 PM, Kaleb C. It was not so they are issuing me a new number on that one as well. So I got to get to the bottom of this. When it happened the first time I thought 16 year old may have stole my card and used it, thinking the worse. He does not play games or do gaming crap. I really do not think it was him. My only other thoughts are maybe I have a virus or spyware on one of the computers. I have ran virus scans and nothing turns up. What is a good maleware tool to scan it with? One other though was I THINK I MAY have used these 2 cars on the cruise last month, I wonder if they got my number that way? I know I used one of the cards on the cruise for sure, and I think I may have used the other as well on that trip. That is the only common link I can think of. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com All posts are the result of individual contributors and as such, those individuals are responsible for the content of the post. Mine are a deep amber/yellow color, far more so than what yours looks, at least in your picture. Does the front of your bulb / glass assembly say "Bosch Germany" as mine do? What do you consider a "reasonable price" then? A new turbo for my VW retails just over $800. I don't consider $700 for a properly rebuilt to be unreasonable. Re: [MBZ] Desperately seeking turbo + finder's "fee"!
Maybe, but I have to admit that I wonder why you have 2 MB wagons. Surely one would be sufficient for your needs. Given that the 85 seems to be a problem, it might be much easier for you if you swapped it for something that was more common and less trouble to source pieces for. I am offering a finder's fee to anyone who can locate a functioning turbocharger from a *1985* W123 wagon, coupe, or sedan. No other MY will do. I will pay a reasonable price for the turbo, and in addition will reward the broker with one (1) jar of my internet-famous jalapeno pepper jelly, made from all-natural resources, including peppers grown organically in the northwest Washington, D.C. This incomparable condiment suits all political persuasions: goes great with brie cheese (for liberals), oatmeal (pour les Francais), and roast chicken and griled lamb chops (RWers). I need this part ASAP - the turbo I purchased is defective and there is no replacement. Thanks in advance, and may the scavenger hunt begin. Re: [MBZ] 123 fog lights
Well rather than just keep arguing I figured it was time somebody got some proof one way or the other so I headed out to my '78 240D. I'd forgotten how much has to come apart to see the fog lights. So here we go, perfectly normal 123 lights: http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz353/curtludwig/0F2F6AEE-913F-4F0D-A7D0-8580D97BE6AF-7731-062691B6D212_zps22d498ed.jpg View on i843.photobucket.com Preview by Yahoo Headlight door removed: http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz353/curtludwig/328285e0-26f5-41e6-b8db-fa26ee353d22_zpscda78417.jpg View on i843.photobucket.com Preview by Yahoo There are screws top and bottom to remove the bezel: http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz353/curtludwig/9403629A-71F7-4862-9D04-26098D4AA1BF-7731-06269CBF4EBA_zps6ee9ddcb.jpg View on i843.photobucket.com Preview by Yahoo Then pull that rubber boot out of the way: http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz353/curtludwig/8F5C0903-1F4F-48B5-ABCB-8F67EC588B48-7731-0626A30F1001_zps43f1ede9.jpg View on i843.photobucket.com Preview by Yahoo Tah dah, not sealed beam... Looks like 1 305 301 026 but I'd have to check again to be sure. The same number is cast into the glass on the face. So there we go, anybody got pics of sealed beam fog lights? -Curt Date: Fri, 25 Apr 2014 01:23:31 + (UTC) From: roger...@comcast.net To: mercedes@okiebenz.com Subject: Re: [MBZ] 123 fog lights Message-ID: <1169647313.32448126.1398389011152.javamail.r...@comcast.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Well guysI just went and looked at my fog lights on my 83 300D. The fog bulbs appear to be sealed beam just like the hi/lo headlights in the fitting beside them. The fog bulbs have "Bosch Germany" embossed in the glass in the middle of them. The fixtures that the bulbs sit in have Bosch sticker on the back of them. But the fogs are definitely sealed beam, not some replaceable bulb like are in my other newer vehicles. Now I purchased the 83 300D from a young Georgia Tech grad whose mother gave it to him after inheriting it from her father who was the original purchaser in South Carolina. The young man told me he would not change anything on the car because he was afraid his mother would be mad at him. Hence, the car was all original with 165,000 miles on it when I purchased it about 18 years ago. Anyway, I don't think they are aftermarket. If I care enough about this issue, I may get into my garage attic and dig out my backup set and see what they are, but as memory serves, they are identical to the set currently on the car. Just how I see it, your visions my differ... Best Wishes, Roger Roger Hale Dinnerware Classics, Inc.
