If you sent something to the list earlier today and got a notification that it 
was being held, it got dumped. I cleaned out the bit bucket a little while ago.

If you send something to the list and it gets held for whatever reason, message 
me directly so I know to look for it and approve it. If I don’t know about it, 
the message will go out in the trash when I dump it. There can be hundreds of 
emails in the queue, and I don’t go through and look at them individually 
unless I need to.

Fuel without air just makes soot. 
Which doesn't make more power, and does waste money (fuel ain't cheap), and 
does reduce the life of the engine. 
Then there's the whole pollution thing, which the younger generation blames us 
for making them inherit a polluted planet. 
Is that enough reason to think it's not a wise thing to do?
And deliberately pouring harmful substances on somebody is assault, and assault 
isn't good (unless the person you're assaulting might have voted for Trump).

possible to inject past BDC on the power stroke, so you get burned valves 
pretty fast.  This is VERY expensive as the heads cannot be rebuilt if the 
seats are badly damaged, and paying twice for a truck usually persuades the 
kids to use their brain.

I no longer attempt to explain anything to teenagers unless they show 
significant signs of actually paying attention.  No point until they get past 
the brain re-development between 18 and 20.

I’m especially sensitive to the “rolling coal” crap, as I worked at a high 
school in a rural area and there were so many high school kids with diesel 
trucks with the IPs cranked up to do this. It was their middle finger to “the 
man”, whoever that might be.

I once pointed out to some of my students that they were fouling the air 
everyone else, including their parents and siblings, breathe. They didn’t see 
it that way.

Jaime,

I don’t see it as having anything to do with the cost. There appear to be a 
fair number of young people (younger than you) in the group who enjoy “builds” 
and “modding” and they’re looking for direction. When they ask about something 
like removing the ALDA and we (us god-like old guys who know everything) 
suggest that it’s a bad idea or will net them little or nothing, they get 
angry, stamp their feet, and suggest that we’re trying to “hold them down” in 
some manner or somehow denigrate what they’re doing.

Rather than engage and ask why removing the ALDA is a bad idea so they can 
understand the rationale behind our suggestion, they go 180 degrees and get 
ugly or boast about how they “roll coal” on people without their ALDA and think 
it’s funny. It’s really pretty infantile, and it’s also sad that the mods allow 
it to happen under the guise of letting people do what they want with their 
cars. Your kids have to breathe the air they’re fouling.

Had they bothered to ask why, they might have discovered that removing the ALDA 
will net them little to nothing in the way of performance, and might even be 
detrimental. But they never went that far. I do recall someone trying to make 
this point in the thread, but being pretty much ignored.

I personally don’t care what anyone does with their car(s), they’re not mine. 
Yes, I’m a purist, but I can totally understand someone’s desire to tinker or 
do other things with a car. However, when they ask for advice about making 
changes or modifications of people with experience they’re dismissive and 
sometimes ugly. So what’s the point?

I try to keep my advice useful and factual.  It might not be popular
opinion, but in my experience its good advice.  I also don't think they
like the cost of some of the solutions I suggest, but I can understand that.

the vendor has loaded all the stuff on it. That's pretty funny, 
computers from Nashville end up in Hong Kong for some Chinese dudes to 
clone the MB stuff onto then send it back here to me.

It seems like I have been banned too. I have been running lists for many years 
as have you and usually you give warnings to people who you think are out of 
line. If it continues and you ban them, you inform them. Just banning somebody 
without even a word is childish. 

The use of the f bomb all the time is not appropriate either. I don’t get 
offended by it but many do. You have to understand if you are a car group 
people usually come there to learn, not hear trash talk.

The washington state nuclear build failure was to make five plants.  One 
actually was put online, the others were lost at various stages of development. 
 One plant made it all the way to building the cooling towers.   Whatever stage 
that is.  I suspect that was the most completed outside of Handford.  

Back in the BioFuel craze one bioD company wanted to purchase the property.  I 
seem to recall the sale went through, but nothing ever came of fuel production. 
 With our current idiot green governor, there will be no carbon creating 
industries allowed here.  I am not sure if that has been the cause of the 
enormous rise in food cost in SEA area.

Yes, the left side signal light clicked firmly into place and the right
side (the one with which I had the problems) did, too.

It was a hassle to get it to where I could install the right turn
signal light at all. The remaining problem is due to the location
of the right headlight lens relative to the two "tab receptacles"
on the light assembly's outboard side. The lens on the right light
assembly is noticably more outboard than the lens on the left light
assembly.

[MBZ] OT CPAP

I’m out of town last night and the next 2 nights. I left home and forgot my 
CPAP. Oh boy last night was horrible. When I started using it I never noticed I 
had a problem before but after using it for 1.5 years I sure can’t get any 
sleep without it.

I was at a thing Tuesday evening and one of the PSC commissioners who 
voted on this mess was there, his wife is quite lovely, I sorta know 
her, but he is kind of a d*ck.  They had to take off so I did not get a 
chance to chat him up on this thing.

I checked my strips using a magnifying glass and the amp. says 80.  I have
ordered already for 2 to be shipped and they are 100 A.  Wouldn't those be
better; a bit stronger?  Or could that cause problems?  They are cheap
enough to have to re-order.
I used a heavy wire as a jumper, but not planning on using the car 'till
the new ones arrive.
