Thanks.  I know some carbs are "drain-back" but I don't think that works with 
dual-diaphragm carbs.  I never had luck rebuilding mine so I just replace them 
too.

Well I posted the Van for sale this morning on Craigslist and sold it 11 
hours later. Asked 1800 and got 1600 cash. I think trade in value was in the 
range of $1800-850. And now I DO NOT HAVE TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX 
THE STUCK DOOR.

worth the bother for them. They’d be more underwater on it to deal with it.

This probably has already been explained long ago, but if Titlemax has a
lien on the vehicle, and they know you have the vehicle, why haven't
they come to pick it up?

that they even took the data from your purchase of Okie Acres into 
consideration. They’re saying it’s worth $86k yet a much smaller place down the 
road with three more acres is worth $210k.

I had the rear wheels lift on one once, didn't get the very high before I
got it under control, but don't want that to happen again. It gets very
tippy side to side with the rear in the air.

As best I understand it, this happens because closing costs are
estimates. At the actual closing you might be a little bit +/- and they
either pay you or you pay them the difference. I've had both happen.

This is where the hand clutch of the Moline (for example) is superior.  As you 
fall backwards,
your body motion naturally DIS-engages the clutch.  The usual foot clutch 
EN-gages as you
fall off.  On the Moline, you could even hook a dead man's rope to the clutch 
lever...

Zillow doesn’t appear to deal well with disparities or inconsistencies relative 
to comparable properties. I have to believe they take what sale data they can 
get from the county or municipality, but even so, their “special sauce” doesn’t 
seem consistent.

Average price of a home in my neighborhood is in the mid to low $300s. The only 
house that’s sold since February just closed last month at $363k. I’m waiting 
to see what that does to the values in the neighborhood.

That being said, I get a monthly email from Zillow about trending values 
relative to my ZIP code, and it seems to be fairly accurate. Since they’re 
using a much larger sample I would expect the numbers to be a bit more accurate.

didn't cost $200,000 so its nice to see their rating back in our ballpark.
I think their rating for us is low. Looking at the comps other houses in our 
price range are total garbage.

 We had a bunch here in front of the house. I cut 'em off with the chainsaw in 
the fall and ran a 1/2" forstner bit down the center as far as it would go, 
maybe 4-5". In the spring I stuck a shovel under the edge of the stumps and 
they just came apart...

 You know I randomly got a couple checks out of our refi also. One from the 
mortgage company, one from the insurance company and one other I don't recall. 
Then I got a bill for $12.65 of underpaid taxes...
It kinda worked out, with the furlough weeks I had to take from work the money 
was handy. I got unemployment for some of those weeks but not all. It turns out 
if you don't submit for unemployment for a few weeks they drop you. Then when 
you got to submit again you need to reopen your claim the week you aren't 
working so you can submit a request for benefits the NEXT week. I *think* I've 
done it correctly this week but won't know for sure until next week...

I agree on redfin.. just had a house appraised by a certified appraiser,
and looked to redfin for "second opinion" [free vs $900 appraisal fee] ..
Redfin was within $6,000 of the certified appraisers number..

Pre 2008 housing crash, Zillow was the "go to" for a quick and accurate
look at value since 2008, they have slipped drastically in being
remotely useful..

Zillow shows our first house, the rental, is in the 250k range, which could be 
close or perhaps a little high. Not sure. It shows our current vast estate as 
worth $85k. In the mean time, anything even close to our size of house and 
average is all close to the 300k mark or higher and 95% of those listing are 
currently pending.

Reminds me of my propane delivery guy last week.
"There's a 4" hornet nest under the dome on the north tank"

I figure I won't touch the tanks again until that nest is well and

hat off when hornets swarmed my face, and put the hat back on without
checking it. Got nailed in the temple. Then I had to get in the car from
the passenger side to move it. W201 is probably the worst car I own, maybe
have ever owned, to climb into the driver seat from the passenger seat.

 Safety note:
Remember when pulling with a tractor to hook LOW on the tractor and only to an 
approved pull point. LOTS of farmers have been killed when a tractor pivoted on 
the rear wheels and rolled over. Even with ROPS you're going to get quite a 
knock if it rolls.
This is especially true on dry ground, if the ground is wet the tractor will 
lose traction before it rolls.
I've had the front wheels of the tractor leave the ground before, had my foot 
hovering over the clutch so I could bring it down but things got sketchy...

Zillow is useless, their numbers are rarely accurate.

Our house was values at more than 25% than what we sold it for, which was about 
5% over the appraisal and right in line with comps in the area that had sold 
within 3-4 months. Interestingly, as soon as we listed the house, the Zillow 
value plummeted by 30%. Within a few weeks it was back where it had been.

I’m not sure what they use for their data or how their algorithms are “tuned”, 
but they’re way off a lot of the time. A couple of realtors we know say much 
the same about them, too.

Saved me about $700 in late fees. I know I have 2 cars for sure I need to do 
due to shady titles. One had a Kentucky title (I think) but you can’t read the 
VIN on it. Got another car that was some sort of sheriff sale deal and it 
doesn’t really have a title either. Got several with penalties on it but I 
don’t want to wear out the loophole so will use it sparingly.

This, but you need a large diameter rim (remove the tire).  The rim translates 
the pulling force to a lifting force.  The bigger the rim diameter and the 
closer you get it to the stem, the greater the lifting force.  The 'U' profile 
of the rim contains and guides the chain, won't slip off the side of the rim.  
Also very effective for uprooting wooden power and telephone poles, should the 
need arise.

They use the same Chinese carbs (ZAMA?) as everybody else.
When it gets crudded up, the mechanic throws another one on.
At $20-30 a pop, it's way cheaper than paying the mechanic to rebuild it,
and rebuild kits are pretty much unobtainium for that reason.

I never had any luck with those choker things.  Usually they just slid up 
skinning the branches.
You can bend the loader with too much asymmetric load.  Not something you want. 
 A tractor is not a bulldozer.
You can load up the draw bar all you want.  Be more cautious with the 3-point 
but it's cheaper to fix a 3-point than a loader.  If you put a cross bar 
between the 3-point lower arms it makes a decent way to lift and pull.
If you have strong roots nothing beats a ripper.
