[MBZ] I guess the 116 project is still on hold

My ordered arrived from RM European today which was supposed to contain 
the fuel filter needed.  I had planned to finish up the car this weekend 
but only a small box arrived.  Out of my order I only received some air 
filter mounts.  I assumed there must be a 2nd box but I have no tracking 
info for a 2nd box, only this box.  So I called them and they thought 
that was strange, there obviously should be a 2nd box but they only have 
record of my entire order shipping in the one tiny box.  WTF.  Had I 
known this, I perhaps would have stopped by the dealer today to see if 
they had one that they could rape me on.


This got me to remembering back to my late teen and early adult years 
when I started working on these cars.  We used to have 2 good euro parts 
stores in Tulsa that stocked all the parts you would now get from FCP, 
RM etc, or could have it here tomorrow.  Now there are exactly ZERO of 
these left.  The one I always went was ran by this old guy and his 
wife.  I always hated it when he was not there, but she was a real 
bitch.  Hateful and acted like you were bothering her if you showed up 
to buy anything.  He was a really nice guy on the other hand.  Anyway, 
its probably been at least 10 years of not more but their place was 
still there, with the parts inside but just not opened anymore.  I 
figured they retired, or died or something and now its gone.  Not sure 
what happened to all the parts.   The only thing left now is the chain 
flaps.  No specialty euro parts available.

Or, possession by anyone ever charged with misdemeanor domestic violence

throws you in jail to get custody and child support, by false claim of
domestic violence, but makes the case... you go bird hunting with a
shotgun, federal felony... so sorry... minimum 5 years in prison..

This summer, four Oklahoma methbillies went to a scrap yard, allegedly 
with intent to rob the owner.
He'd done time for manslaughter for killing thieves in the past, and 
they were after his money, not property, so I'd assume they were looking 
to violently harm or kill him.


Their remains were found chopped up and dumped in a river. The yard 
owner was arrested in Florida on suspicion of homicide. Something tells 
me it was probably legitimate self defense, accompanied by illegal 
possession of a firearm by a felon and illegal disposal of human remains 
and spoliation of evidence.
As for the methbillies, nobody who knew them was surprised, and nobody 
outside of their immediate family seems to regret their passing.

Man, 61, fatally shot in suspected burglary at North Charleston tow yard

NORTH CHARLESTON — Police officers found a 61-year-old man fatally shot Nov. 29 
after they were dispatched for a break-in at a city tow yard. 


Officers were dispatched before 11 p.m. for a 911 call about a possible 
burglary at a towing business on Atkins Street, according to the incident 
report. At the scene, officers found Herman Reed Jr. fatally shot. 

The 911 caller was also at the scene, police spokesman Harve Jacobs said. He 
has not been charged in the shooting. 

"At this point investigators are reviewing all evidence in the case and are 
consulting with the Charleston County Solicitor's Office and the Charleston 
County Coroner's Office," he said in a statement. 

The incident report identified the caller as a 62-year-old man. The two men 
were strangers to each other, the report states. 

Reed, a North Charleston resident, was on probation at the time of his death 
after pleading guilty last year to theft-related charges, according to court 
records.

City police officers dispatched for a theft report Oct. 11, 2021, found Reed 
lying underneath a car outside a body shop on West Montague Avenue, according 
to an incident report. An electric saw was stuck in a pipe leading to the 
vehicle's catalytic converter and Reed had a black bag containing extra 
batteries and a backup saw blade, the report states. 

Reed pleaded guilty in December 2021 to three counts of damaging property to 
obtain metals. He was sentenced to time served and five years of probation, 
court records show.
