Re: [MBZ] 5 speed '86 300E on BAT

2024-01-22 Thread Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes
I sent the original to him and he said it was completely corroded and not
rebuildable so he kept it. There was one in the trunk the PO said he got from
eBay that was supposedly ok. It was missing the actuator lever which that guy
sent me but it was missing the ball thingie to attach the throttle lever (like
123 and 126 throttle linkage ball/sockets) so I have to bodge something up.

The original one I sent him had all that so I was kinda annoyed he sent me this
partial thing which made no sense. Whatever. I got some allen screws with big
heads I can kinda grind down or turn on my little lathe to make something until
I find an actual part. Or find something in the junkyard.

So I want to get that put together and see if it will run. I’ll get that done
soon and see if it runs.

Engine number is 272967 30 292250 per the VIN, which according to the Mercedes

Steam did not work. Simple Green, scrubbing then steam did nothing. Good Gone

Ideas?

They make spray paint intended for plastics.

I wonder, if you can get it clean with alcohol, if you could paint it,
and if the paint would seal it so that you don't have ongoing issues?
