You guys would die to have the audi diesels we have over here. . I have an a4 diesel and I would say it is great. Today I returned my rental car which was a citroen and it was very very fast and fuel efficient. Very efficient. . My audi does fifty five to sixty mpg and this citroen was better! What you get there is not as good as what we have! The current diesels are awesome. . My dream car, he I needed one, is the CLS 320 cdi. I see it everywhere! An equalizer can be helpful but most audiophiles do not use them. If your system is set up properly there really should be no need for one. If you have a boomy room or flat room then it can help. I'm into stupidly expensive gear and do not use them. With my live sound gear I used one because the rooms were always different but I used a real time auto EQ so it was no problem. Listening to mp3s, the EQ can make a big difference because of rubbish sound from mp3s. If your ear doesn't hear any difference then you don't need to worry. The last thing an audiophile wants is another connection and circuit in the sound chain. It is VERY easy to get oarts for a HJ or BJ Landcruiser! Just call a Canadian dealer and deal with them! I used to have a lot of US customers needing parts. No biggie. The US dealer network just likes to play dumb and say they don't exist. They have the same info and can get the parts but seem to be too lazy to do it. That was my experience with 13 years at Toyota dealers. I sent cruiser parts all over the world because I would take the time to do the work. Actually the Previa did not have a trans fluid filter originally. It had a strainer which was meant for the life of the vehicle. Many people thought it was a filter and replaced it with some Fram shit so now you have to keep changing it. The price for a strainer was high...about three or four times that of a filter kit. If you had a total digital system, yes the analogue would like rubbish. Solid state will make it sound ok but tubes would be best. Digital has much much less audio info than analogue but it's good enough for the vast majority of people. Gentlemen of the vinyl variety, I was poking through my LP collection last night and found that I have two box sets of Beethoven with Symphony #9 and BOTH are with Herbert Von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic. The difference being one is a digitally remaster on vinyl and the other an analogue release. Both by Deutsche Gramaphone! Hmmm, direct comparison time! Same master, same people, same label.guess which one sound better. BTW, both are pristine and cost me less than $5 at a charity shop. One is a three disc(?) set of Symphony 5 9 and the analogue one is all 9! I forgot I had them! What a pleasant surprise. Allan, Not all studios are recording in digital. I know that Elvis Costello, Diana Krall and Tom Waits are still recording in analogue. I wouldn't be surprised if analogue desks made a comeback. However, I bought a Springsteen album of folk music he did and it stank of digital...no life at all, really. Also have the Beatles Love album from the Vegas Cirque Du Soleil show and it also reeks of digital at times. You'd think that having access to the masters would guarantee a good result but it has too much bass and at times almost seems like pohase shifting from the shitty digital remaster. In short, some do, some don't. You need to read the fine print to know for sure. Also, some of the digital recordings are quite good. I also suspect that any analogue recording being done is on muc better tape as the tape hiss and pre-echo doesn't seem to exist on them. Pre-echo is hearing an upcoming pice of the music in the background before it actully is played. Think of Whole Lotta Love by Zeppelin where you could hear Plant's vocals in the background of the quiet part, Way down inside...woman.you nd Levels were too high on the tape and their magnetism transferred onto the previous part of the tape. Curt, Antytime you're over here in London let me know and I'll show you the difference in sound between analogue and digital. It really is massive. It's not your ears, it's the equipment or your personal preferences. I'm a music snob and tend to listen to music and do nothing, or little, else whilst listening. You can get much more into the music this way.a lot more if that's your thing. The immediacy and transparency of analogue is amazing. Lots of extra acoustic information. Last night I was listening to Elvis Costello's album North and you can hear and feel him moving around and singing off-mike. It's not convenient, but it is vastly superior. I also don't think that having music around you 24/7 is a good thing.it cheapens the experiencemakes the musicians effort seem less important. Personally I have a Dynavector XX1, an Audio Note modified Goldring 1042 and Denon DL103 on my turntable which is a rather modified, by me, Michell Gyrodec. I recently got all my vinyl from Canada and am rather swamped in music now. If y'all want a fun LP, search for the soundtrack from O Brother Where Art Thou...It's a two lp set and sounds great in analogue! I also got the Beatles remixes for the Cirque Du Soleil show.can't remember what it's called. I believe it's to reduce the amount of oil going into the breather tube that goes to the air cleaner. There was a dealer fix years ago that involved using RTV to seal up the gaps there. The oil filler cap has a gasket and if it's leaking it needs to be replaced. It's interchangeable with your fuel tank cap. Swap them and see if the leak goes away. Those are definitely viruse and they've come in via a MyWebSearch toolbar program. Remove it in add/remove programs in control panel. Allan, But it's your choice to fiddle or not to fiddle. Simply choose an environment you think looks nice and off you go. You'll fiddle a LOT more with MS than you do with Linux. Seems like I was always chasing some nonsense in Windows and haven't had to do that with Linux...not since cresting the minor learning curve. It doesn't take long to adjust and then you wonder why you bothered with MS in the first place! You could sit anyone down at a Linux desktop and they'd find their way around immediately and never look back. It's mostly fear of the unknown.
