I’m not sure about the tire pressure. I filled them up last month, fronts 63PSI
and rears 75PSI per spec. It was SSOOO busy yesterday When we dropped
her off that I wouldn’t be surprised that it was simply overlooked/skipped. I
plan to fill out any service quality assessment forms that I receive. Regarding
the loner car AKA courtesy vehicle, it was a GLA250 4Matic base model which
seemed to be a good little SUV. It was powered by a 2.0L 4 cylinder with an
eight-speed DSG transmission with a 0-60MPH time of 6.6sec!! Also, it was rated
at 24MPG city and 33MPG HWY, not bad for a compact SUV! While we were waiting
around for the van, we looked at several SUPS including the Mexican-assembled
GLB250, the GLC350 and the GLE 350 as well as the GLS450 which stickered at
$95K! It, as well as the $114K GLS63 AMG, were the only ones that were powered
by something other than a turbocharged 4 cylinder. The only Mercedes-Benz
equipped with a Diesel engine is the Sprinter.

So what about the low tire pressure, did that exist before the service and they
missed it, or did they "service" it and leave the pressure too low?

Complain to the dealer politely you return the car, and maybe they'll give
you a better loaner car.

Contact MBUSA and fill out the dealer assessment (they usually send you one).
I made sure MBUSA knew of quality issues with work done at the stealer.

[MBZ] A Not So Good Stealership Service Experience With Der DoodleWagen

2020-12-11 Thread Kevin Kraly via Mercedes
Hello Benzers. Yesterday was Lutgart’s turn to get her yearly oil change and
address the three recalls. This also included the A service which comprised
oel/filter, fuel filter change, inspection and tire pressure check. Today,
after waiting well over an hour for pickup, we headed home. As we were slowly
trekking down the freeway in the rain at 40MPH, I consulted her for a fuel
economy check revealing only 9.8MPG! WOW! Since the fuel filter was changed, I
knew that the low mileage was due to a leak that must be pretty severe since
that is well less than half the normal fuel economy. Arriving home, there was a
strong Diesel smell around the front of the van. Also, the real time display
showed that the right front tire pressure was low and showing a hotter tire
temp than the others. This is after PROFESSIONALS serviced my van! If I knew
the location and procedure for replacing the fuel filter, I would have been
servicing my own vehicle! As the saying goes, the only way to fix it right
is to FIX IT YOURSELF! I’m going to try to not only get the service for free,
but also have them top off my fuel tank as well.
