[MBZ] A Work Associate is in the Fold ("83 00D euro)

2009-03-08 Thread Bob Rentfro
A work associate just called and told me he bought an '83 300D euro, 192K
(not sure M's or Km's), $1500. Crank windows, manual hvac (cold AC), white
with blue cloth, operable sun roof, pretty much complete. Says the coolant
is green (seeping froma hairline crack on top hose nozzle), PO has the vac
lines on passenger side of firewall plugged, says it flares a little before
it kicks down when you tromp on it. Says it has a little vibration at
certain speeds.I'm sure he will have more to report to me after he drives it
a bit. He asked me to come and drive it next week, I already gave him the
Marshall Lecture (diesel purge, change ALL fuses, and drive it like you
STOLE it). I'm going to invite him into our world.

Kaleb, do you have blue cloth drivers seat? Got euro lights for that (he
say's they are cracked but they both work)?

TELL HIM TO GET A NEW RADIATOR IN IT TOMORROW -- that hairline crack
is a dead upper hose nipple and it's gonna break off and fry the
motor. And put Zerex G-05 coolant in it, too, else he's gonna be out
a water pump housing shortly.

Brass and copper radiators used to be available for those cars. Same
price as the plastic and aluminum, but don't fall apart with some age
