It is the coupé version of the fodo W140, which these days MB also call 
a coupé, but whatever...


It is a little spendy for me, I'm thinking more along the lines of these 
few $100 E-klasses.

thought a CL/CLS was a cheap class, but this one is clearly the front 
end of an S  (140, I hear)

Yeah that's like the 560SEC and the 300CD I think, that stuff is

As a former W140 coupe owner, I can confirm that there *are* some coupe 
specific bits, and due to the limited numbers, are quite pricey if you can even 
find them.

When I parted my coupe out, I got more for a single window regulator than I got 
for the car as scrap

the rest is just standard 140 stuff, should not be too hard to 
maintain.  The 500 engine is solid.  I think that is just "marketing" hype.
