Re: [MBZ] I am back in Paradise

2007-06-15 Thread Curt Raymond

I dunno but I was on a flight that made a go-around once.
Coming into LAX, we're down low, everything seems normal. Wait, theres the
runway, I've flown alot and it seems like we're not low enough. It also seems
like we're going REALLY fast...
Then the power comes on, the nose comes up and the pilot tells us he's "gonna
try that again".
Four words to inspire confidence...

I wonder what, if any stigma or penalty there is for a commercial/heavy

...hmmm...
what would you call that? Error in judgement? ;-)

Must use a lot of fuel to go-around -

Yep! There's more of us than of them. Just require that all explosives
be separated from their detonators and/or timers, and that pressurized
containers be stored outside the pressurized cabin. Y'know, basic
safety rules.

I can imagine that having to do a go-around at LAX would irk the traffic
controllers no end.

Welcome back to civilization!
I wish all these pilots had to fly from 1900' grass strips weekly -
you learn to ALWAYS touch down on the first 50 feet of the runway.

think it was because they had a 350lb fat kid flying the plane. Boy
that was the scariest landing I have seen in a while. Came in too high
and when he did touch down he didnt have much runway left, so had to
slam on the brakes and thrust reversers on full. Everyone was slammed
into the seat in front, no kidding. Smoke coming up from the tires.
Geez.
