Subject: [MBZ] My $500 Kaleb Car let me down

I went out to start my $500 Buick Lesabre this morning and it wouldn't
start. It would click once, but not start. I think it's the starter. It
could also be the battery cable. These cars have a problem with a spacer in
the cable that corrodes. I was dressed in my suit because I had to meet a
client for her deposition this morning. So, I had to get my wife out to
help me try to start it while whacking the starter with a hammer while
laying on the drive in my suit and tie. And of course, it didn't work. So,
we had to push it out of the way, in order to get my wife's car out of the
garage, so I could drive it. Crazy morning. I am rushing to my office and
my client is trying to reach me, I am driving too fast and trying to answer
my cell phone, I ran a red light by mistake (luckily no one around) and when
I finally get to work, my client is calling because they cannot come to the
deposition because the Joint Commission on Accredidation of Hospitals is
there for their SURPRISE inspection. It is once every three years and it
was today without any notice. What a morning.

I thought about that also, but it is not clicking fast like a low
battery, it is just one click. But, I won't condemn the starter until I have
exhausted the tests on the cheaper items.

That is true. Fred Thompson (from Tennessee) campaigned in his old red
pickup for his Senate seat. I think though, I could have a little newer
Buick and still not look like I was "putting on airs" or "driving some
foreign kraut car."

If I ever do run, I hope they don't find out I have had 6 Benzes.

One of our local judges traded off his fancy Cadillac and bought a Grand Am

I used to work for a Congressman in Missouri and he always rented the

I have a very nice gigantic battery in my Dakota because the AAA guy didn't let

My wife had left the interior lights on over night...

I sold my wife's explorer because I wanted something else and she wanted my
Expedition. I had a friend with this old buick, I offered him $500 and he took
it. So, I figured I would drive it for a while. It gets a lot better mileage
than my Expedition did. I was planning to drive it for 6 months or so and go
pay cash for a cheap car (maybe not quite this cheap). I also need something
to drive, while I find a 124 gasser - which is what I really want.
