Re: [MBZ] New front suspension with disk break. 1937 Mercedes Rat Rod - $5, 000 (Belleview Fl.)
The front frame looks like it would make a nice bouncy board, especially with 1000lb of engine and trans sitting up there. I’m still thinking a nice Benz diesel engine and trans (606/722.6), would have to bodge up the ECU and TCM somehow but I guess that would be doable. That would be some awesome power and torque with a BULLETPROOF tranny, the rod would haul ass. Might need to do a suspension transplant too but that could be a fun build aspect. --FT Sent from iFōn > On Oct 19, 2022, at 12:29 PM, G Mann via Mercedes > wrote: > > Ford 460 gas engine is an absolute gas pig, the C6 transmission is an > antique. Ford 460 gas engine is an absolute gas pig, the C6 transmission is an antique. When I look at this "project" I'm seeing multiple bad decisions and poor planning. Keep the engine/trans, I'll bid $200 for the messed up hulk you are trying to sell, but only if you have front fenders, hood, and grill to go with it. The grill is generally set back about even with the center of the front wheels so the hood need not be so long as the frame might otherwise suggest. The hood shouldn't be too hard to fabricate but the fenders and grill would be more of an issue. I wonder how close fenders from some other car might match? There must be some new aftermarket fenders available for some sort of old car that could be made to work. Randy On 19/10/2022 10:57 AM, OK Don via Mercedes wrote: I love the doors hinged like that.
