Re: [MBZ] Speaking of diesel law tractors

2013-08-11 Thread Dan Penoff
Kohler or Onan, but not the consumer grade stuff. If I was going to put in
another standby system I would shop around for a decent used commercial system.
There are lots of them out there with few hours on them as "take outs".

I had a 25kW Generac at my last house, but I got it through work as a take out
from a very expensive (2.5M) home. Cost me $40 to get it running, courtesy of
John, the Aussie guy with the MB shop. He could source the electrical part the
engine needed that couldn't be found here in the States.

So you only get 12kw out of it.
Are you talking about that 57 hour Kubota? That one seemed like a deal for
anybody who was considering dropping five figures on a new one. But I'd check
and see exactly what a new one would cost you first.

Yes. PTO driven generators, also known in the business as two bearing
generators, are available with both direct drive and gear reduction units.
Generac makes these as do a few other companies. They're not cheap nor easy to
find, as they were never made in large volumes.

I think they are arbitrary, but the G4200 has a 424cc 2-cyl diesel engine
of 12hp, while the G5200 has a 599cc 3-cyl diesel of 14hp. It was available
with three different width mowing decks.
I wonder what is wrong with it - why is he selling it?
