Re: [MBZ] it’s in drive so very hard to move keys for it are 10$ online 2001 Mercedes-Benz M-Class $1000
Yeah the dealer said that if I had the original key they could clone it. But I didn't. All I had was a copy that didn't have a chip (I had that made after several emergency "I locked my keys in the car" incidents). The locksmith was able to get the car computer programmed to accept their aftermarket key. Set me back $180 which the boy who lost the key is paying to me on his next payday. Probably looking at something like this and thinking it will actually work. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001158848391.html Any chance one of those smartkeys could actually be mated to a W210? My W163 (2003) has a multi button switchblade (my W140 has the original single button switchblade). ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Just had to get a new key for the Focus. Ford dealer wouldn't touch it, said they can't do anything with cars over 10 years old. Big strike against ever buying a Ford again, even though I've been pretty happy with the Focus overall. Local locksmith came to the car with a mobile programming device and programmed a new key on the spot. Fortunately I still had a non-chip copy of the key so they could cut the teeth from that.
