Re: [MBZ] 123 Blower motor ?'s

2008-06-08 Thread Mitch Haley

I don't think a W123 is abnormally difficult. Just remember, if it's a
1976 it might be a W115, and those are incredibly time consuming to replace.

I know the '76's were terrible to replace, but I thought the '76's were easy
- or was that just the AC blower?

Sorry - meant to say the 75's were terrible to replace - I had to do that
one once, and was told the '76's were easy at the time.

I was thinking that both the W115 (entire car built around the heater blower)
and the W123 (serviceable) were both available in the 1976 model year.
If it's got 7 headlishts outboard of 5 3/4 fog lights, it shouldn't be
that bad.

It's the 115 that's a bear to do (did it twice), the 115 ran from '68
to '76. The 123 started in '77 - should be LOTs easier to change,
though I've never had to do it. The 107 - '72 to '89 - were EASY to
change! (did it once).

Heater blower on a 114/115 is a nightmare. AC blower on
same is easy. Shared blower on 123 is easy.
