Re: [MBZ] Fickle Love
Exactly why I have my Honda CB900F. When I need some speed I just haul that into the twistys. If I'm in a particularly bad boy mood I'll do it with my wife on the back just to see her freak when we stop. She'll complain I was nearly grinding her foot into the ground... -Curt Date: Tue, 17 Apr 2007 08:05:31 -0500 From: Loren Faeth <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] Fickle Love To: Mercedes Discussion List Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Back in my college years, when all I had was the stately pace of the 200D, I loved going for a fling on my R75/5. Try - the Home Depot building is an option. I presently have a 10x18 barn. But the cost of the metal building at $6300 for 20x36 is a better deal for me than $17k for the smaller 16x32 from HD. It uses 3"x2" rectangular tubing for reinforcement. Prettey substantial. Thankfully, tornadoes are not common here. I know, I am somewhat concerned about a "metal building" - seems like a wooden building is more permanent. Except for rust the metal should be long lasting. The metal has a coating which is supposed to protect it from chips, cracks, etc. I looked into metal buildings that are built with a metal frame - I-beams, channels, and then traditional roofing and vinyl siding. It looked exactly like a stick building. The 20x32 that matched my 2 story colonial was $5500 delivered but not installed. I;d have to prep the location and erect the building. As I said it's an option - Larry T (67 MGB, 74 911, 78 240D, 91 300D) www.youroil.net for Oil Analysis and Weber Parts Test Results http://members.rennlist.com/oil PORSCHE POSTERS! youroil.net Weber Carb Info http://members.rennlist.com/webercarbs Porsche Road Test http://members.rennlist.com/roadtest/ . - Original Message - From: "Dimitri Seretakis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Mercedes Discussion List" Sent: Sunday, April 22, 2007 10:04 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] Garage
Re: [MBZ] Fickle Love
that Cummins with it's 325hp and 610Lb/Ft of torque will quickly Ours, older, has about 100/300 less, but it's still pretty nice. Usually it's shackled with the camper, though. I love the way it pulls in third, the new ones probably can do the same in fourth. The rev range is longer on the newer ones too, so that would be nicer. I still prefer the styling of the 94+ models. I haven't gotten the nerve to open it up other than on the beach at Long Beach, WA. A fine place for such things. Just try to avoid the wet shoulder in favor of the dry one! Re: [MBZ] Fickle Love
I blew right past her. No matter how pleasant to drive, you can't do that in the Frankenheap! I love the periodic change of steed. The difference is just as pronounced in the SD and the Cummins Diesel. The SD is faster than the old NA 300D/CD's, but that Cummins with it's 325hp and 610Lb/Ft of torque will quickly put your back right into the seat when you give it a good"ROMP". I don't even drive them, but I understand. When I need my own fix behind the wheel, out comes the 1:10 scale RC10GT race truck, .75hp of nitro-burning beast that can get up to 40mph or so in a little over 1.5 seconds!! Then, there's the lumbering 1:8 scale Traxxas Revo monstertruck with double the power, 4WD and a 2spd transmission, 55mph top speed right out of the box! They say that it can top 60mph with a few mods, but I haven't gotten the nerve to open it up other than on the beach at Long Beach, WA. That is why I have so many cars. When I get tired of one I move on to another, pretty soon Im ready for yet another car, its the circle of life. Exactly my sentiments! Recently I've been driving the SL again, and tonight my wife and I ended up caravanning home. (She in the 300Dt.) On the nice flat open spot near home she romped on it.
