Re: [MBZ] Fire Sale
Hey Chuck, you happy with your 16v or are you thinking about Mathieu's? It's the right color and set up for your kind of driving.

Re: [MBZ] Fire Sale
Mitch, I'm happy with my Smoke Silver 16V (Lil' Bro') that matches the 500E (Big Bro').. Besides, I've decided take the 500E to StarFest in Las Vegas in October. Track is Spring Mountain Raceway... 2.2 miles. Will be getting some competition tires w/17" wheels before then. I did forward the info on Mathieu's 16V to a friend in VA who's interested in getting one... If I hadn't found mine, I would definitely look into it. Was in Pahrump to take a look at the track last week. Speeds on the back straight can be 110-115mph depending on driver foot and talent. Here's a place to download video of a friend driving his SLK55 at Spring Mountain http://hosted.filefront.com/slk55ontrack Take care, Chuck On Aug 11, 2006, at 8:40 AM, Mitch Haley wrote: Hey Chuck, you happy with your 16v or are you thinking about Mathieu's? If it were a ZF, I would not be selling it and installing it in the w113. Also, I'm puzzled - what good is the fanfare horn is they are missiing?? Not many w108s came from the factory with that option. It is easier to find the replacement horns than it is to find a car that came from the factory equiped with such. The 280se is wired for the fanfares, but someone removed the high tone horns prior to my purchasing the car. If all you care about is finding the horns themselves, then it does you no good, but for a fellow who is seeking to restore an very unusual w108, it is nice to have them installed from the factory.
Re: [MBZ] Fire Sale
May I ask what car is worth selling all of those off? If I was closer, I would be seriously thinking about the 300D's, especially the '77 and '78. You're on the right coast, and I'm on the left, what a bummer! Kevin in Hillsboro Oregon, seriously feeling MB diesel withdrawal, only cured by getting another one
Re: [MBZ] Fire Sale
While it is a tough decision, I am looking at getting a very special one-off C36. I have been after this car for a number of years and the door of opportunity has opened. You could always have the 300Ds shipped out to you. ;) Mathieu On Aug 11, 2006, at 4:52 PM, kevin kraly wrote: May I ask what car is worth selling all of those off? Hey Mitch... Was exciting, but it's from '93... I couldn't find anything but writeups about more recent DTM series/races... And I won't bang fenders at Spring Mountain!.. I was surprised to see that the Evo II wing was either obsolete or (more likely) outlawed by '93. I was also surprised to see all the curb jumping and sparks flying, but then I remembered that some F1 drivers (Aryton Senna) used to do the same with much more fragile cars costing millions of dollars. Here's a lap filmed last year with an ex-DTM car. I love it for the soundtrack. http://videos.247drifting.com/video/737597e8-8869-40e8-8517-981300556061.htm
