This part seems innovative, and may overcome a significant shortfall of current battery technology: ...recharging them [flow cell batteries] does not take hours and hours. All that is required to recharge them is to exchange spent electrolytes (which can be recharged outside the vehicle) for new, charged fluid. Sounds like when the electrical charge gets low, the driver goes to a fueling station and drains off the spent fluid(s) and then refills with charged fluid(s). One part that worries me is mention of a super capacitor which is loss-less. THAT would be huge, but I'm not holding my breath However, lots of promises and little substance. Why do I see sale of stock as the next move toward production? Just perhaps, the idea of having exchangeable liquids to give instant recharge is the quantum leap forward away from the limitation of heavy and expensive batteries that take hours to recharge and have a finite life cycle of number of total times they can be charged. I question however, the real world cost of production of this special liquid battery , it's handling, and ultimately, it's disposal. Also, what happens when you get T-boned and the tanks rupture sending the two liquids together? Also, what happens when you get T-boned and the tanks rupture sending the two liquids together? Don One tank in the front; the other tank in the back. How often do both ends of a vehicle get crushed? I remember all the fuss about the dangers of gasoline back in the '30s. Some of it was real back then, but invention and innovation eliminated most of the risks, and today it's pretty safe. If such a system as this proves to be efficient, profitable, and relatively safe, it will probably be adopted IMO. Personally I think solar will be the energy source of the future. You need to be able to store solar energy, it's not energy on demand -- and that's one of the potential uses for a battery like this, if it's really all they say it is.
