You must be talking gray market, no AC, no rear speakers, etc didn't occur in US cars at that time, even 240Ds. A California uncle bought the same car for factory delivery and it was a real stripper. No sunroof or rear speakers, windup windows. Possible the radio was extra cost along with the manual AC. But if you bought a 300D (I did) you got ACC (feeble), power windows, sunroof, Auto trans (jerky as hell) and rear speakers, even. All built into the price, I think. On Euro Delivery, you had different choices. MomBNA dictated what we could buy here, but on Euro Delivery you had more choices, not only the loaded up (oxymoron for a 240D) MomBNA models You must be talking gray market, no AC, no rear speakers, etc didn't occur in US cars at that time, even 240Ds. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

At the time it was the cheapest option too ($20-$25 for each side)! I checked the EPC for the W123 a single W126 part number is now listed (126 910 11 22). A reinforced pad base? (116 914 01 97), is available for the W126 part though. That was correct in previous years, but in looking at a price guide by '83 a stereo radio (with cassette pwr ant) manual A/C was standard on the US market 240D. The extra cost options (to specify when ordering, aside from standard or auto trans) were: Rear headrests Metallic paint Becker Grand Prix electronic stereo radio (with cassette pwr ant) Manual sliding sunroof (with wind deflector) Electric sliding sunroof (with wind deflector) (Front) orthopedic seat backs (Front) seats with reinforced spring frames Heated front seats Leather upholstery Velour upholstery Alloy wheels Electric windows (front rear) On 2/14/2013 1:09 AM, relng...@aol.com wrote: ...My '83 240D was ordered and then picked up in Germany. I love that Becker knob radio with the mechanical station pre-sets, Chris. Wish I could find one for the '83 300D.
