Does it require any aditional settings? Because it is not reading complete
status on my favorite screen. Some times it read on group or broadcast list
screen where we can add members.

works like a charm in a pinch. you will need to install an app called

exit it and reboot your phone. whatsapp is now not enabled and thus

I second Hozefa though do not have a C5 handset but N79. A couple of options
that have become accessible include:

* Contact Info

* Names of group members in Group Info

* Selected contact name on Add Member screen of Group Info

* Status options

* About screen

Also it's installation program is completely accessible now. However,
there's still room for improvement in the following areas:

* Smilies

* Contact name in long group chats

* Line-wise scroll in chat window

Here's a lengthy workaround for reading long chats (group as well as
individual):

* Open the chat window.

* Select Options (using [key1]) and then Chat History Send.

* Press [key2] when it presents various sending options.

* A text file is created which can be found underMemory
Card\WAExport folder using the File Manager program on your phone.

* Press the [Send} or green key, it lists various sending options.

* Select via Message which is generally the first option, the file
content appear in the body of a new text/multimedia message (depending on
content) with a blank To box.

* The chat can be read now like a SMS.

* This message can be closed using [key2], while closing the message
you can decide whether to discard it or save as a draft under your phone's
Messaging program.

If someone knows of a better option then kindly suggest. I'm not willing to
shell out on IOS/Android for now (lol).

2014-02-25 Thread Divyanshu Ganatra
@ Zujar. Thank you for taking time to explain the various new
features. Will try out the option you suggested to read lengthy chat
messages.
@ Payal. i've figured out a bit lengthy way to turn off the packet
data and thus stop the consumption on the battery. its not perfect but
works like a charm in a pinch. you will need to install an app called
M guard which is free from nokia store. run a memory check post
installation, and disable whatsap from starting automatically. now if
you want whatsap to stay completely off and not use packet data, just
exit it and reboot your phone. whatsapp is now not enabled and thus
ensures your packet data stayhs off. if only i could figure out how to
do this without re booting my phone ..
thanks

Re: [Mobile.AI] Nokia E5 and WhatsApp

2014-02-25 Thread Payal Kapoor
Most of what Zujar has mentioned works after this latest talks upgrade
except the contact info option on my phone. it shows up on whim only.
i've tried various things to make certain it shows up each time, but
to no avail. any ideas there?
@Divyanshu, i do have m guard installed and have seen the disabling
option, but since i use whatsapp almost through the day in bits and
pieces i just let it be. guess battery drain is a price to pay to
stay in touch!:)

 M guard which is free from nokia store. run a memory check post
 installation, and disable whatsap from starting automatically. now if
 you want whatsap to stay completely off and not use packet data, just
 exit it and reboot your phone. whatsapp is now not enabled and thus
 ensures your packet data stayhs off. if only i could figure out how to
 do this without re booting my phone ..
 thanks

 I second Hozefa though do not have a C5 handset but N79. A couple of
 options
 that have become accessible include:

 * Contact Info

 * Names of group members in Group Info

 * Selected contact name on Add Member screen of Group Info

 * Status options

 * About screen

 Also it's installation program is completely accessible now. However,
 there's still room for improvement in the following areas:

 * Smilies

 * Contact name in long group chats

 * Line-wise scroll in chat window

 Here's a lengthy workaround for reading long chats (group as well as
 individual):

 * Open the chat window.

 * Select Options (using [key1]) and then Chat History Send.

 * Press [key2] when it presents various sending options.

 * A text file is created which can be found underMemory
 Card\WAExport folder using the File Manager program on your phone.

 * Press the [Send} or green key, it lists various sending
 options.

 * Select via Message which is generally the first option, the
 file
 content appear in the body of a new text/multimedia message (depending on
 content) with a blank To box.

 * The chat can be read now like a SMS.

 * This message can be closed using [key2], while closing the
 message
 you can decide whether to discard it or save as a draft under your
 phone's
 Messaging program.

 If someone knows of a better option then kindly suggest. I'm not willing
 to
 shell out on IOS/Android for now (lol).

 Best Regards,

 Zujar..

 You need to update your Talks version to the latest. The current version
 is
 5.50.3. I am using the current version of Whats App without any
 difficulty
 in Nokia C5.

 Hi Divyanshu,

 Nope, no luck there. i had also expected to see some more

 accessibility on whatsapp but am left wanting.

 There is no other version of whatsapp that can be used but the one you

 might have. in any case it forces you to upgrade everytime there is an

 upgrade available. i have tried endlessly to be able to get better

 information on a group chat, to no avail.

 In fact there is a strange thing happening when i look at contact info

 of any contact. once in a way it flashes all the details a contact

 might have put up like status, last seen and so on. but, this is not a

 regular occurance. i am in fact looking for a solution to this as

 well. have you noticed this ?
