[MMouse]: WoW hall show

I went to the WoW show last week, as well as the show at the Crystal a
couple of months ago, and I'm glad I went to both--they mixed up the set
list a lot.  If I recall correctly, the Crystal show was every song off of
KILAS, plus a few others.  The WoW show had maybe five KILAS songs, plus
Randy Describes Eternity, Stop the Show, Kicked it in the Sun, In the
Morning, a Love as Laughter (I mean L/A/L) cover and the real kicker--they
played "Car", which I've never seen played live before, and the entire
crowd sang along to the first verse.  Doug sheepishly retreated from the
mike and let us sing.  He had the biggest grin on his face--it must be an
incredible feeling to know that a whole room of people cares deeply about a
song you wrote.
As for the Delusions guitarist, he seems to be getting the hang of
it.  He seemed a little out of place at the Crystal show, but much better
at the WoW show.  He still doesn't have the fluidity of Doug's playing,
which makes his lines stand out, rather than blend in nicely like on the
album, but he's getting htere.  I still think they should turn the slide
guitar down though.

[MMouse]: new pavement

ok. i heard the new pavement for the first time yesterday, so i'm not too 
sure about how i feel about it...i love the 5th track the most so far. the 
album overall strikes me as odd because it's the same pavement sounding like 
a very different pavement, does that make sense? it's very obvious that that 
nigel guy who produced ok computer was involved...that's probably why it 
sounds so weird. it's kinda spacey and clean, which i think is due to him, 
and that style seems to work better for radiohead than for pavement. i guess 
they have to try different things to avoid an artistic stagnation, though. 
what does everyone else think? my love to you all-kirstin.

they are definitely local. i dont know if they have anything out.. but i know 
that it seems that they play at that club quite often, so if you felt so 
inclined.. i would go to one of the upcoming shows they are playing at and 
talk to the guys  about it i know that dutchland diesel ( the other band 
that opened) was talking about a cd they just pressed.. but i dont remember 
if styles murphy had anything... i wouldnt be surprised if they at least had 
a self-released cd or something..

This song is NOT from "Long Drive..." 

It is from a split 12" with 764-HERO...kind of a combo of both the bands.

It's available thru  UP (UP058), and Suicide Squeeze Records (S008).

It's worth the purchase, although the entire thing is just this one song, but 
that is just one guy's opinion.

Somtimes No It Alls Don't Know It All.

While I am at it, there is a 7" out on Magic Eye Recordings with an Ugly 
Cassanova track on it "To Roads to Go, To Roads To Go"  
Scratched into the plastic of the record it says, "'The world doesn't need 
another side project'"  I don't know if this is universal, or if this is on 
limited pressings of an already limited pressing.  Collectors will want it, 
but the song is mediocre.

Interpret what it all means yourself.  I have my own theories.

I thought I saw some people posting how much 
they liked Joan of Arc recently so I was excited to see them play with Pedro the 
Lion.  I thought they played a tough set.  I thought there was 
definite potential, but it really never came together during the show.  Is 
there anyone else who saw them play in Seattle that can confirm or deny this 
statement?  It seemed as if after the first song a few technical problem 
effected the rest of the set.  How do they come across on the 
album?
 
In other news, what do you think of the new 
Pavement?

yeah, ok seriously!...and it's not even a matter of people lying about what 
they're selling, usually...people sell opened records for like, $5, and 
people will get the bidding up to like $12 and then they charge you $2 extra 
for shipping, so it's like yr paying $14 for a record you coulda gotten NEW 
straight from the record company, shipping included, for about $8!  it's 
ridiculous.  people really are stupid.

and about this political discussion--can it end?  or call ya'all exchange

murphy" that opened?  I thought they were great and ive been trying to find

local or not, and/or where to get it!...please help.

I was also wondering if anyone had CORRECT tabs to tundra/desert since the

my thoughts this morning, in response to the list postings i just readi 
don't really mind if the content is non MM, it's nice to talk about other 
things with people all over the world who are connected by one thing-kinda 
interesting i think. the weed thing...it's your decision if you wanna be 
stoned from the beginning of the day til the end, not my personal approach, 
but it's your life, i'm not gonna lecture you for it. the last thing i had a 
thought on-how do you know isaac brock knows what he wants to do with his 
life? his lyrics don't reflect that he does. the lyrics seem very sure about 
being unsure. for me, that's part of the appeal. i have a question for you 
all-if your life had a soundtrack, what would the main, or theme song be? 
(doesn't have to be a MM song) it's hard to decide, but i lean towards edit

OK so I can understand that when someone starts getting into a band later in 
their  career that they will get pissed off when someone critisizes them for 
not being a "real" fan. Now I am speaking generally here so if I offend 
anyone then it's your own fault for putting yourself into a catagory. I 
personally don't put myself into any type of stereotype because there is a 
huge range in my tastes. I understand when someone gets pissed that a 
newcomer likes their favorite band. I belive the original fans for the most 
part have gone out of their way to find music that isn't the radio play that 
the majority of people listen to. Then they usually find a certain gem that 
is their own that not many people know about.  Then this gem gets famous and 
the original fans usually are pretty mad because the newer fans merely turn 
on the radio, here a song that they like from the band, and go out to buy 
every single album from the band. I don't think it's only an indie thing. It 
happens with all kinds of "underground" music. It's more of a conformity 
thing than an "i liked them first" deal. At least thats how I feel. 
Alternative music became big a few years back. "Alternative" originally meant 
an alternative to mainstream. this became a contradiction once it became 
popular. Those are my thoughts. Flame me if you will.

The problem here is that hardly any political factions are capable of
agreeing on what those basic rights are.  "basic rights" is a
politically evasive and ill-defined term.  I'd discuss this further

I skipped it cuz I saw them last month at the crystal ballroom - a
show that kicked ass.  but, i have to say that I wasn't a big fan of
that delusions guitarist.

comparisons?  i saw BTS at WOW hall maybe last year too.. really small
show.  i liked the smaller, cleaner sound in that show (although WOW
hall isn't really the best concert hall ever).  maybe i'm getting old.
