Re: [MMouse]: Serious Talk

2000-05-19 Thread Ledena Mattox

Thank you *pHil*. I used to work with children who had fetal alcohol
syndrome and it was difficult to watch them struggle so much from a
syndrome that IS 100% preventable. The kids I worked with were 12-13 and
all of them couldn't really read, write, or pay attention long enough to
answer questions (and the list goes on...). The saddest thing to me is that
if someone doesn't give them enough time and attention, and work with them
very closely and intensively, they will drown, and it was obvious (in the
cases of the kids I knew) that their parents weren't going to be those
people. I don't really know about you all, but if I were ever pregnant I
think I'd be afraid to even stand close to a microwave because there are
enough things that can fuck up your kids in the world, you should at the
very least want to protect them from things that you can easily prevent. I
remember watching a movie back in the day called the Parent License and I
never thought it sounded like a bad idea. +Ledena-

Yeah, where the hell are you buying that at? And aren't you excited (Ben)
that the mouse is coming here instead of just skipping up to Portland?
Maybe it's just me, but I'd much rather see them play at the wow hall than
at the crystal ballroom. Some of the hippies (and possibly a few
anarchists) will probably come to the show. We can all smoke a bowl with
Isaac out back, then swing our hair and swirl our arms to the muzack.

(Are there any PSU students on this list?)

[MMouse]: anniversary/Metallica saved my soul....

2000-05-11 Thread Ledena Mattox

Did anybody get a chance to catch them playing with Piebald (yuck) and Hot
Rod Circuit (eh)? I tried to catch them in Portland, but there van busted
flat in B.C is what I heard. Just wondering how they fare live. AND just to
let you know, I am one of the banned users from the Napster program. Yes,
collectively, my friends and I did indeed have A Metallica song within our
mp3 collection and have thus learned our lesson. Thank you Metallica for
keeping us morally in check. You have shown us the way to a less
exploitative lifestyle, and we are aimed toward a better path in terms of
the way that our generation treats art. We will now form the "James
Hetfield Allstars" and take to the streets to educate the kids through our
music about the perils of such a lifestyle of theft. I Am a little tin
Goddess.

2000-03-10 Thread Ledena Mattox

For those of you who are fans of Weezer and what its former members are up
to now, I just thought I'd tell you that I saw Special Goodness tonight and
OH man were they terrible (has the drummer from Weezer as the guitar player
and singer). I couldn't take it, I had to leave, I do not recommend going
to see this band.

Re: [MMouse]: name songs are sweet, let's get an ice cream

1999-11-23 Thread Ledena Mattox

Joni Mitchel does Carry, R.L. burnside does Tribute to Fred, and frank
black does Adda Lee, and there is that one eighties song Sarah (I forget
who does it). My name has never been in any song, and probably never will,
but whenever that song "I'm a genie in a bottle" comes on at my work, I
like to say "I'm a ledena in a bottle". It's pretty lame but it makes me
feel special.
uh, goodnight.
