i like this idea you can get shirts pretty cheep at kmart or some place
along those lines i bought a couple of ringers at target a couple months
back for about 6-8 dollars apiece-i was actually intending on making some
of my own shirts anyway--- but this is a good idea--steven

hey, ringer tees would be nice if we could do that, but i'd also go for
just a plain shirt.

personally (but really, anything would be rad) i would like a simple shirt
with some sort of a sketch somehow pertaining to the moon and antartica on
the front, 'modest mouse' somewhere on it, and maybe a lyric we all know
and love too, like the buffalo shirt if it had a lyric. but then i'm
not 100% sure if i like the lyric idea or not. i've been trying to come up
with some sort of image that would sum up the album. i had a dream last
night that i was wearing a modest mouse shirt that just had modest mouse
across the front and 'you can really get it on' across the back, i think
because i fell asleep thinking about the shirts. i was trying to think of

do you mean t's with color-tipped sleeves and collar?
the problem with those is that they are normally white or some other light
color with dark colored sleeves and collar.
so you're standing in front of the washing machine trying to decide whether
it goes in the light or dark load.
either way, you've got either a grey, light pink or otherwise entirely wrong
colored shirt or a WHOLE LOAD of the same.

applause

this is, in fact, a very good idea steven. not only does it cut down on
all the work kevin has to do, but this way we can send in shirts we know
we're going to like and wear. one drawback i can think of would be that
he'll be getting a whole hell of a lot of packages all around the same
time...but... what apain it would be for him to have to hunt down shirts
by himself if we did it the other way/ and maybe we could first vote on if
we want lyrics or not and if we do, vote on suggestions people send in. i
think in this case, voting and majority rules would help things/kevin
out. like the hotboys/girls voting page.

these modest mouse dreams are all so funny... especially amy's whore
dream and that michael myers dream... the best one so far was the one
about the songs modest mouse was playing that didn't even exist yet. how
rad is that? i wonder if this freaks them out. hrmm.. heh heh...amy your
dream might :)

i was playing the promo in the car last night during a long drive home
in the rain and traffic and a friend of mine who really doesn't like
modest mouse (although i am dragging her to the show on the 13th
anyway) or indie in general turned to me after gravity rides everything
and said, "who the hell is this?" kinda amazed, and i was llike, "mmMMMmm,
yeah, it's MODEST MOUSE, the band i once put on repeat for a 16 hour
roadtrip to philly that you don't really like" (which is maybe why she
didn't like them) and she was like, "wow...this is REALLY REALLY good" and i
was alll excited. if they played a show with pearl jam i would be so
excited for them... that's a lot of exposure.

i apologize if the longness offended/ really pissed anyone off,

2000-04-20 Thread blucadet3 do you connect?

I ran this by Dave and he thought it was a good idea. Everyone was talking
about shirts and stuff so I thought that I could make shirts for the list. I
took a serigraphy class last semester and I still have a ton of ink left as
well as all the tools and stuff. All i would have to buy is the stuff that
makes the ink stick to shirts and the shirts, and more ink if a ton o people
are into this. The idea is for us to have a design contest and pick the one
or maybe two we like best. Then who ever wants one can email me (put your
two cents in about colors and stuff) and when I think I have a good idea of
how many we are talking about I'll make up a bunch. Then I'll figure how
much they cost. I want them to be very cheap. No profit. I just thought this
would be cool. Then we would bump into each other out there and be like Wow
your on that mailing list! and everyone else would be like where the hell
did you get that shirt yo? If anyone try's to sell these on ebay we will
kill you. I thought it would be cool to just kill off the rest of these
supplies that way. So i thought just making the colors random would be cool
