I'm going nuts. Any idea ? Stephane. There has been quite a lot of talk along these lines over the last week or so. It seems there are problems with the dynamic loading of mod_perl with apache as installed via the RedHat rpm's. I have two boxes set up with Apache/mod_perl. One worked perfectly well with RedHat's installation, the other showed the problems you describe. The solution was to build Apache and mod_perl from source and statically link mod_perl. Some one on this list has produced source rpm's for this purpose but I have not tried them. Either get the tarballs and do it yourself, or search the list for the reference to the source rpm's. -- John Reid Senior Analyst/Programmer Open Connect (Ireland) Ltd http://www.openconnect.ie/

DSO is reported to be unstable yet, at least for some platforms/sw releases. I'm using a static build. Seems to be the case. The RedHat rpm distribution works fine on one of my machines and not at all on another. I can think of no obvious reason why it should fail on one and not the other, both machines have very similar set-ups, but that is the way it is. The hand built, statically linked version works perfectly. -- John Reid Senior Analyst/Programmer Open Connect (Ireland) Ltd http://www.openconnect.ie/

Also try to eliminate the modules you preload, and if server starts without them, try to find out the offending module... Any idea ?
