[Monotone-devel] commit and sink in same transaction
Hi. Can I synchronize (serve, pull, ...) the repository and do commit changes in same transaction without data loss through software API? Thanks.___ Monotone-devel mailing list Monotone-devel@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/monotone-devel

No, but the question as phrased makes no sense in monotone's framework, so I suspect you're thinking about the task the wrong way. I suspect what the OP wants is to automatically push to a remote database every commit on the local database. This looks possible with the note_commit hook; see http://monotone.ca/docs/Hooks.html#Hooks (but I don't know enough of Lua or hooks to be sure hooks can call back into monotone to, e.g., sync). -- Ludovic Brenta. ___ Monotone-devel mailing list Monotone-devel@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/monotone-devel
Re: [Monotone-devel] [ANN] monotone 0.43 released
2009/3/23 Thomas Keller m...@thomaskeller.biz: Hi fellows! A new version was released today with these changes: * monotone no longer bundles several required 3rd party libraries; this not only makes our life easier but was often requested by distributions. * monotone can now be configured to use forward deltas which speeds netsync servers quite a lot. * the speed of mtn log has been improved tremendously and new useful selectors became available there. * monotone can now export its databases into git's fast-import format (hey, but that doesn't mean you guys should now all switch to git ;) * tons of bugfixes... Good news. Thanks, and keep up good work. One note from me: last few versions i've builduploaded win32 installers. Now i'm out of time and resources so I don't know when i will find spare time to build win32 version. Please anyone take note of this and buildupload win32 installer. Your compiler is probably pickier about the headers; try adding #include iterator and/or #include algorithm to the top of the file. zw ___ Monotone-devel mailing list Monotone-devel@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/monotone-devel

I downloaded the ebuild file and will test it here during the next days. But previously I'll have to read all the Changelogs, the network here still is on 0.39. Which makes me wonder, but ... Two questions: - Why did you mark it unstable? - Who is currently maintaining the Monotone ebuilds on Gentoo and should we perhaps do this ourselves? It's unfortunately quite common in Gentoo that packages with a smaller user group have a very long delay between their updates and often lack a few versions. I would personally think that, especially given mtn's excellent test suite for detecting regressions, 0.43 is probably the most stable version, but that is not how things work in ebuild land (at least as I understand it) - updated ebuilds are marked as unstable by default. (Posting PRs to bugs.gentoo.org saying version X.Y.Z worked with emerge --info output here often can cause that particular version to be bumped to stable for the arch in question). - Who is currently maintaining the Monotone ebuilds on Gentoo and should we perhaps do this ourselves? Based on the changelog and my own experiences, Daniel Black (dragonhe...@gentoo.org) does most of the work on the monotone ebuild on the Gentoo side. I don't think there is any one person regularly producing new ebuild versions though - I've done a few, as have, it appears, about 3-4 other people (http://tiny.cc/wBaKk) -Jack ___ Monotone-devel mailing list Monotone-devel@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/monotone-devel
